".........3 life sentences" it;s a joke. "..........your wife should get a medal" is a continuation of that joke. Unless you are a sad perpetual victim who is always picked on then it's an insult. Get a feckin life for christ sake.

If ever you needed any confirmation that Reform are just a branch of National Front and completely racist then their new MP Lee Anderson does his best to leave no doubt given his remarks about the Police involved in the airport GBH. I fail to understand how anyone who has seen the footage of that can condone thos Officers in any shape or form. It's disgusting if not less surprising than it should be. If I did what that PC did in defending myself and home I would have been arrested with no hesitation. I get that force may have been needed to disable a threat in the first place but kicking a prone man in the head and stamping on him when he is already subdued is indefensible.

I agree with you on both counts.

The only mitigating factor for the police is that the event took place in an airport, which in troubled times must be regarded as a terrorist target, but the actions appeared unnecessary as well as excessive. The suspect had already been subdued: it’s not as if it happened during a struggle.

Anderson is not fit to be an MP. He’s a disgrace to Parliament and the country. It’s a sad commentary on the British public that a
man like him can get elected.

I can accept without any proof at all that they may well have created an altercation and it may have included some violence. We haven't seen or heard what took place before this. But, that is no excuse for kicking anyone in the head when they are laying prone on the floor and resistance has gone. I don't care if this was an Airport and aiports are a target. This was a trained man who had been given a firearm to carry around. He will have been trained not to over react and should have demonstrated his ability not to. I am pleased to now see he has been charged criminaly. So he should be and several of his associates in that film as well.

It looks pretty clear he first kicked him
In the head: we aren’t talking about a tap, it looks a bit like a rugby full back kicking for the extra point. He then seems to stamp on the guys head, although not as forcefully as the kick.

As the perp was already restrained in a face down position, it looks all wrong.

There’s more video on the Manchester Airport incident showing the original altercation. It’s bad and you can see why anyone would lose their rag. The police are supposed to show restraint though.

That’s not what a came on to say though. After some months of being told that the economy was up **** creek without a paddle by such eminent institutions as the IFS, our new government have now found that the economy is up **** creek without a paddle, something they were entirely unaware of before the election and they are very disappointed nobody told them. Regrettably, they will no longer be able to live up to their election pledges.

One of those was not to increase already penally high level of taxes. Inheritance Tax is of course on the hit list but so is tax relief on pension contributions. Some may consider the pensions triple-lock as being an unfair bias in favour of the old to the detriment of the young. That may be true, although the young can always get off their asses and earn more, but it applies only to the State Pension, which is sufficient only to support a life of poverty. If the government makes saving in private pensions any less attractive, they are storing up a catastrophic situation in the future when she entire pensionable cohort is unable to house and feed itself. It will also mean that all those pensioners who currently fund their own social care will be unable to do so and that will also fall onto the state when it can’t afford what little it’s already providing.

Also I note that the Stonehenge tunnel project looks set for the axe whilst the M5-A303 link seems to have sunk without trace. Investment in rail infrastructure is also to be cut including reconnecting Plymouth with Tavistock. Whilst useful in itself, that would also have been a step toward linking the whole thing up at Okehampton to provide an alternative route when the line at Teignmouty is impassable. I bet those constituencies in the north that went Conservative and now back to Labour won’t be getting their infrastructure budget cut.

I thought I’d put a plug in (pardon the pun) for Octopus Energy.

They were one of the few suppliers to survive the energy crisis due to sound risk management and helped the Government bail out some of the others that went under.

I was in a 2 year fixed tariff deal with them, which they honoured, and so, don’t hit me, the energy crisis largely passed me by.

That ran out nearly a year ago and I took a 12 month fix from them again. That runs out in September but contained a £75 early termination penalty on each of the two fuels, which I thought was fair as I wouldn’t suffer if prices went up and it was unreasonable for them to if prices went down and I terminated.

Most of the tariffs they advertise are for those with solar panels, ground pumps or EV’s, which aren’t applicable to me. I emailed them at 11:15 this morning to point out that I could go to another supplier now and save more that the £150 penalty.

By 3:15 this afternoon, they’ve come back with a suitable tariff, waiving the penalties because I’m close to end-of-contract anyway. It will save me 18% on what I’m paying now and I can switch right away rather than in September.

I don’t often do this but if you are looking for an energy supplier, you could do a lot worse.

well im with these not through choice but as shell sold out to them, i have to say not pleased as i have tried to change my Tarriff 4 weeks ago to the Flux so i can export as i have just fitted new pv and a battery to the roof . i removed theexisting old ones i know the tarriffs are not as good , but im losing money as im exporting to the grid a fair bit and not get anything as they wont set up the tarriff i have given them until friday and will switch to eon..

Even still my energy bills were over 375 a month, just had my bill for the last 4 weeks with the new panels and PV 12.95 yep 12.95 so when exporting i will be get money back and i have the app so when i sell my energy at good rates and fill my battery on the cheap rates and periods so quite pleased even tho it was a lay out, no labour so not bad but we have been installing a lot of these now i know payback is a bit uncertian given the time but its well worth doing if you can..
