I didn't say we couldn't. I said it's easier for us to sign Turkish players because we're one of the few clubs with excellent knowledge of those leagues, our owner is well liked over there and we have Turkish players and staff here. It's not that we couldn't sign English players, we signed Drameh, what I mean is that it's more difficult to convince a player of Hughes' quality to come here than it would be a centre half from Turkey with the same ability.
He’s a young player ffs why are you so hung up on the idea that he cannot improve. He’s not deadwood he’s shown more than enough in glimpses that he can perform at this level. World beater? No. A very versatile useful squad player? Absolutely
That's how players get better, they step up when there's nobody in front of them. If a better player signs, he'll drop down the pecking order. If he shows he's capable, which he is, then he can play a part. He was just on loan in the Championship last season, so why is he good enough to play for Millwall but deadwood to us?
Some players fit in better at other clubs. He g fit in well at Millwall and looked like he was enjoying it. To me I'm not so sure he enjoys it here. Just seems off
I’m not optimistic if he’s a key player, I just think people are too easily hung up on prior performance. He’s never had a consistent run in the side in a fixed position. He’s played left wing back, right wing back, striker, right wing and left wing.
I seem to remember there were two, but more recently I saw there were three. No idea when the new arrival came.
Care to explain how Cardiff with a Turkish manager and foreign owner can make these signings Cardiff City IN Calum Chambers - Aston Villa, free Ewan Griffiths - Swansea, free Luke Pearce - Southampton, free Michael Reindorf - Norwich, free Chris Willock - QPR, free Wilfried Kanga - Hertha, loan
We've ripped our squad apart, sacked the coach which leaves us with a huge rebuilding task which is looking more unlikely to happen with each passing day. As a supporter come what may, with huge reservations about were we are at today, if players take the same view by comparison to other options they may have , we are up against it to put it mildly. I would love to be proved wrong, but I'm seriously concerned about mounting any challenge this season for The Prem.
I thought there was always 3. I'm 46 now and remember (or thought I did) that I waved at 3 when I was a toddler
I’d love to get the honest opinion of Grant McCann as to his thoughts of what’s gone on here since he was relieved of his duties. i, like most on here, bleed black & amber, but it appears to have turned into a full scale circus since Rosie was sacked. I wasn’t a fan of his style of football, and from that point of view I can see why Acun pulled the trigger, however everything that has happened since just seems like a bit of a nightmare. On a brighter note we’ve just had a nice young lad start at our place who I’ve been asked to take under my wing as it’s his first job after leaving college, and it turns out he’s a cousin and good pal of Jacob Greaves.
Certainly wouldn't say we have excellent knowledge of the turkish league with some of the ****e we have signed from it.
Because they're free transfer players, three of which are youth players. If we're counting those, then we've also signed Ramell Carter, Jagielka Jnr and that lad from Fleetwood. Willock and Chambers are just like us signing Drameh, they were out of contract and negotiations were easier. Last season Cardiff signed five players from non English leagues, two of them from Turkey no less. For the third time, it isn't that we CAN'T, it's that it's easier for us to buy players from abroad than to mix it in the domestic market and that might be what we need to lean more into to get what we need.
I would not be surprised if he doesn't like it here. The crap he got last time he was in the team on a regular basis was disgusting. I even heard someone in E10 suggesting he was crap because he was Gay! The poor kid looked shot to pieces and must have been pig sick of being the fall guy. He went on loan, fresh start, and did ok. I imagine he is currently wondering what his future holds but perhaps if we try the novel idea of supporting him and the other lads on the pitch he will feel happier, perform better and stick around!
Out of Tetteh, Sinik, Tufan, Pelkas, Traore, Omur and Allahyar, only Sinik has been a disaster, really. Maybe Traore, but he was a free transfer anyway.
