I'd doubt that very much. Kyle comes across as one of the most down-to-Earth players out there. And Russ is the best man-manager we've had since Le God knows when.
If someone has said: I don't want to be here next year, find me a way out, it is quite hard to maintain that level of closeness. And his wording is definitely more wishy-washy than normal when he discusses his players. I guess it doesn't matter as Kyle is almost certainly off.
Wasn’t he singed as Toney’s replacement and no one has bid what they want for Toney? Is anyone likely to? Wonder how that impacts their finances
Though they might end up with with the rather gothic sounding Ivan and Igor upfront, which is almost as good as last year's surprisingly journyman-agerial sounding pairing of Toney Maupay.
KWP was happy to stay and fight in the Championship, on a reduced wage, went many of his team mates abandoned ship but he is kicking off and wants out when we get back promoted and his wage rises again? It doesn't add up to me. I think that was Russ just saying KWP is a bit distracted right now as his future is up in the air, but that if he ends up staying then he hopes he will be able to focus again, like he did last season.
Depends how KWP sees it. If he believes he was promised a move - which is how I think most of us saw it - and doesn't get one, it may do a bit of damage to his relationship with the club.
The club can't do anything if a bid doesn't come in tbh, And im sure the player was told if a bid of x amount comes in we will sale.
The big difference he's back the PL. He could now have 6-12 months to remind people he's a very good candidate for being a starter for a genuinely top team.
I do hope this get solved amicably. He came to us when we were going to struggle at fullback and has played both wings consistently at a very high standard - seemingly without complaint. I will be sad to see him go, but l am genuinely grateful for his service to the club.
There was a spell where Facebook kept giving me stories about Leeds that were clearly written by utterly deluded Leeds fans pages. They seemed to think that they were retaining everyone they wanted to keep. Other than Gray of course. Odd as the articles came after he went so you’d think they would have learnt. They also seem to think that they can get Phillips back. Or at least they keep talking about it An interesting fanbase to say the least
They’re now saying £40m for Summerville is too much and happy he’s going. Tbf the Leeds fans I know never liked Summerville so they aren’t too fussed he’s going
They aren’t really wrong. Is that figure confirmed though? All I can find is that they bid 20 and were told to double it. Doubling it straight away doesn’t seem very “west ham”
I have this weird feeling, he will stay, accidentally have to play, turn out to be great and we’ll be stressing that he wants away next summer.
Guessing he gets loaned out again and eventually joins the list of players we have wasted huge money on. He can keep Carrillo, Osvaldo, lemina and Boufal. Wouldn't shock me if Sulemana ends up in that list eventually too.
