Would hope so but I think Roberts and Clarke will get the nod.

Agree but i think thats why theyve moved him over to the right now

Him n clarke both look so sharp at the minute so good to see if they can play in the same team

Vadaine Oliver. Christ, he gave our defence nightmares a few times in league one.

    Aye maybe.

What's terrible from AA. Had an easy pass either side for an easy goal. Went for it himself.

    Poor display.

Only positive was Mundle. That's it. Everyone else was poor.

Shift most of these on and increase the quality.

    Two positives from that.
    1. Mundle. Really impressive performance. More than comfortable with him being the Clarke replacement if/when he leaves. Eerily similar playstyle to Clarke with his slow dribbling then quick bursts and his keenness to cut inside.
    2. RLB and Speakman must've seen enough from some of these players that they can't be a part of the squad this season. Rusyn, Embleton, Anderson, Pembele just not good enough. Question marks remain over Hjelde. Johnson needs a loan. The fact Hemir didn't even get on suggests he's not even close to being in the plans.

Couple of decent indevidual showings but they look like really struggling with the new tactics imo.

Granted that's nowhere near first team.
And the ref gave them no help at all we got bullied and then had the cheek to book someone 5 mins from the end.

I hope and pray for Trai Hume not to get anywhere near an injury , sorry but Pembele does not look anything like a capable deputy .

The worry is speakman and Harvey wanted them all though.

It's time we up the quality now.

Mundle by far the best. Aouchiche kept going too and started to shake off more rust as the game went on. Did well to set JM away. Much more to come from Ba and Rigg. Johnson okay (but needs a loan). Not much from the rest, but there’s a good 16 players ahead of these who weren’t even at Valley Parade tonight.

Not many positives from tonights game tbh but the big one is Mundle, he was a joy to watch at times. He worked his socks off defensively as well which impressed me just as much as what he did on the ball.

Adil def showed glimpses of his talent, his decision making is poor tho and he has to improve in that area if hes to start games

I like hjelde but he needs to show more aggression defensively, cant back off players like he did on a few occasions tonight.

Ba def looked rusty but expected due to it being his 1st minutes

Rusyn pembele were big concerns tonight, neither showed anything at all!!

Embleton and anderson arent good enough with where we want to go

Johnson showed glimpses of his ability but he needs a loan move

Rigg struggled a bit tonight but he will be a lot better alongside Neil - Rigg will still play plenty this season and will help us a lot over the season

You’ll be waiting a long time if you’re expecting a 100% hit rate on signings mind.

Of course but I think it's fair to say the ratio is heavily weighted into players that have made little to no impact.

Nice to see more balanced views over here rather than RTG where the place has been burnt down.

it was poor tonight, but bar Rigg and Adil, who else will be likely to get into the team at Cardiff?

Mundle was a big big plus.

    need a striker urgently.

Really difficult to work out what was happening as the players seemed like a bunch of strangers.

Various players showed talent but little teamwork.

Most of the team showed enough to be under further consideration ...

... but as much as I'd love them to succeed I don't think we have the time or resources to waste on Rusyn, Pembele or Embleton.

They're nowhere near what we need imo.

In their time here? No chance. Even in their ‘bad’ last three transfer windows they’ve given us Mundle, Seelt, Bellingham, Aouchiche, Mayenda and Ekwah. This summer they’ve added Browne, Moore and Poveda who all took like solid signings. That’s 9 players who will stick and can contribute to a top end championship squad - and tens of millions of transfer fees if sold.

It’s harder to find players who can instantly impact an established squad at the price we can currently afford. No signings we make these days will be allowed the 6-12 months of grace that was afforded to Roberts or Clarke for instance. Hopefully games like tonight give a level of focus to the club to bring that squad size down. We probably have had too many ‘maybes’ in the last year and that will have had an effect on some of those that came in. But for as long as we’re playing at this particular price point - which we will be until we make a big sale or get promoted - then anything around 50% hit rate is nowt to be sniffed at. I’m guessing we’re above that even in our bad ones - and comfortably above that across their total time here.

Out of the 9 you have listed, not many have made an impact. You are also including players who havnt kicked a ball for us yet.
