Meanwhile, a few weeks ago on this very thread ... As you've said, it's a pointless conversation ... ... that I'm certain you'll continue I won't, have fun.
It's no secret that the country needs more money. No matter who won the election would have to find ways to raise it. From the moment they came to power, Labour have been dancing round the fact that taxes will be raised or the public will feel the pinch in some other way. Its problem that the country has to solve together, party allegiances play no part in it- we're all affected by it. So the adversarial politics doesn't help anyone.
I didn't vote Labour either, some people really have the blinkers welded on. I'm off this now, work beckons.
Cheers mate. Common sense really, My mate got it next door. ( moved now ) and that house is 1.5 million. He couldn’t get them to give it to someone else.
Agreed. Twitter etc rife with “that’s miles above inflation” but completely forget that the tories, over the past. 14 years, have only once given a pay rise above inflation to the nhs. And for 3 of those years we got no pay rise
Leeds has been burning. Police officers attacked in an airport and now children being stabbed. Looks like society has gone backwards and lost all control since Starmer has been in charge @Blond Bombshell Also gotta laugh at Labour attacking the pensioners again. Done it last time too lol.
It was plainly obvious to me, that Labour would have to raise money if elected. It also should have been made clear, either in their manifesto or when asked by reporters. I see both sides of the winter fuel payment argument. As pensioners, it is an added bonus at the time, can l live without it, yes l can, but l would remind you that there are many many who cannot. I look forward to global warming to keep my heating cost down.
Global warming?? I had to have my heating on in July this year for the first time in my adult life! Ridiculously cold early in the month (8 degrees outside at one point!!)
Wish I had that problem, new builds are frigging ridiculously warm all year round. Bedroom is on top floor of townhouse and is currently 25.2% degrees rarely seems to drop below about 23.
Wow! That is cold, when l am busking in 28 deg in NN8 right now. Ours is an old property, cool inside on a day like today, but keep reasonable warm in the winter.
I’ve over insulated mine so the heat can’t get in summer so it’s bloody cold, then when I put the log burner on in winter the heat can’t get out so you are sitting in your pants, mind I did go overboard on the burner
The adversarial politics system is broken mate, beyond repair. The problems we face have been compounded by decades of abjectly weak rule. Much of what Reeves was mouthing about yesterday harks back to Blair. Cameron and his treason simply made it worse, before the Tory selfies imploded themselves. Things will be no different in 5 years time......Govt. of this persuasion or any other hasn't a clue. Welcome UK to a continuation of your perennial misery.
Dear Labour, It's a good job that you found the money for the junior doctors because they are going to be busy treating pensioners with pneumonia and hypothermia this winter. Yours sincerely, Not a Millionaire pensioner.
