Personally I think it's nonsense - for reasons others on the thread have pointed out. People not in the know pretending that they are in the know.
Doesn't Andrew French getting on his high horse trying to stir things and all these rumours about players going. Obviously not got an interview or info he wanted! Sounds more like people are in a panic as yo why players aren't being signed and coming up with reasons.
This is a long read for the WO, but worth it. https://not606.com/threads/watford-short-news-items.43575/page-936#post-17722036
Sorry. It should be https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/24481959.fans-need-unite-push-pozzo-address-watford-worries/
Very interesting article, he is right Pozzo could solve many issues with the fans with some truths about the finances He also praised our chairman who some fans will still think is the real villain Strange situation so close to the season, so much is now right with the ground, coaching staff and future talent in the Academy but the dark cloud is what we cannot see, but you when talk to fans of many, many other clubs they have the same doubts about ownership and finances, we can only hope we can benefit as a club from the new TV deal but the down side of that is we lose the magic of Saturday afternoons and Tue/Wednesday evening games
Even Duxbury has been quiet this summer. All very odd . The recruiting definitely needs to be better but we know who will be blamed if things go wrong .
Fans need to unite and push Pozzo to address Watford worries | Watford Observer Doubt we'll get any real answers to be honest.
Same article as above . I have noticed a lack of interviews from Cleverley and players on the site and social media too . Have the club closed ranks a bit away from the press?
It's social media they should be wary of - a lot of the 'fans' on Facebook and Twitter are poisonous as well as just plain stupid.
Someone claimed on another forum that the administration rumours have been caused by an unpaid bill of more than £1 million by Watford FC to a catering company.
And very fickle. We do need new players but no guarantee they would be successful. Same with new owners and it’s not that simple ! Trouble is people see us as a PL club now in a way who kind of threw away our position at the top table .
The most common complaint on Facebook is "When is Gino going to buy some players?" Strangely forgetting that we have signed four - five if you count Doumbia -- and there is still a month to go before the transfer window closes. Those complaints can't really be doing any good for the confidence of the young players on the cusp of breaking into the first team squad - some who have looked quite handy in pre-season fixtures.
And the chances are we won’t be able to get new ones in unless players go which no one wants to happen . Mind you do think we can use the money better than buying someone who is then having to go to Udinese as we cannot use him yet. If that is all true .
Not sure if this sort of inflammatory article helps tbh. https://x.com/androofrench/status/1818210155609169994 Sort of thing you expect to see in the tabloids . French has obviously had a falling out with r the club .
I think that one of the mistakes that Gino made was keeping Sarr for an additional season in the hope that he would get us promoted. He was praised by many fans for showing ambition, but one man doesn't make a team. As I watch what is happening to clubs over here, some chose to try and assemble expensive teams that would see them go up, but when they failed their finances were an absolute mess, leading to total failure. A number of them have appointed coaches that have a reputation for developing young talent, that might be the right thing for the club, but doesn't get the fans very excited.
