Norris was already undercut and didn't get near overtaking in the first stint on equal tyres May as well go long and get a tyre offset from that position
Surprised to see Lewis and Charles gapping Piastri - those two currently look well set to fight for the win and podium unless the Macca has pace up its sleeve late in the stint.
Perez will be used as a blocker late in the race then it looks like when he’s on the older hard tyre?
An OK race and a close one but the drs train thing did sort of make it a bit dull in parts. The fact nobody could pass without an absolute monster tyre advantage here is not great. There was something to keep everyone interested there. Just lacks a little something to be a real classic. Delighted the brat was nowhere.
Amazing from Russell. Looked like he called the strategy from the car and made it work. McLaren probably erred by not doing the same with Lando given he had the youngest hards, but ultimately Lando threw it away on lap 1 for the 50th time. WCC is still on, but the WDC has been very thoroughly bottled now. For all the McLaren vs Red Bull talk, It's Mercedes who have 3/4 races.
Decent race, curious who comes out of the summer break strongest. Sets things up well for the second half of the season. Two teams passing RB might hinder Max's points potential enough to make the title fight interesting, but probably needs another driver to stand out above the rest if someone else is going to take it.
Next race is Zandvoort, still expect that to be between Red Bull and McLaren on pure pace for such a short lap.
Just thinking that . Quite ungracious of him I thought , when he moaned about pitting when he did . Piastri isn’t the chattiest person around In fact I imagine he could send Caffine to sleep !
