Alfie House, Adam Blackmore and Jacob Tanswell all reporting Ben Brereton-Diaz to Saints for roughly £7m is being finalised
He's got a double-barrelled name, so of course it will happen. I suspect that our signings are predicated on the number of letters that fans will have to purchase, in order to get their favourite player's name on the back of a shirt. I'll wait until we buy Perry Ng from Cardiff
£7m up front £1.2m in add-ons Medical planned for next couple of days and a four-year contract agreed with the player
Likes a red/white stripe then Actually the goals he scored for Sheff U were ok last year, couldn't see Che slotting many of them in.
A straight Che replacement for me and being a permanent transfer it leaves those precious loan slots available, good business. Being able to play wide and up top is a bonus.
Good signing, looked to be getting better and better last year and first natural finisher we've signed in ages.
Yep, agree with all that. What he likes to do is cut inside from the left and shoot - something that we are lacking in the squad. I think this could well turn out to be a bargain.
Am I right in saying he was pretty **** when he was Ben Brereton and only became good in 2021 when he added Diaz?
His spell at Sheffield United is giving me hope. It clearly doesn't look good that Villareal wanted to get rid of him after half a season but he did well in a struggling side last season. For £7m it is another good but not spectacular transfer. Worst case scenario we go down and have a player that has already shown he is an elite Championship player.
