Nixon reckons 4.5m for ugbo. I’d get that paid, apparently Wednesday will struggle to match it. We seemed to have kept our budget for the strikers anyway. Him and one other would be great
Having a decent CF would have made sure we were comfortably in the playoffs and probably finished the job too
What’s ugbo actually like? I’ve purely looked at his record and thought ‘he’ll do’ I was at the sheff wed game and don’t really remember him
Always hard to judge players like this imo but he’s one that fits the same profile we tend to go for. Talented but underwhelming career so far. Had more poor games than good last season was ****e at Cardiff and in my opinion fairly average at Sheff Wed but seemed to return a decent haul, albeit mostly against ****e teams.
@Scout73 probs best to answer haha but from what I’ve seen he has really nice movement in the box and likes to drive at defenders time to time, https://x.com/twfootball1867/status/1764211891327434762?s=46
Aye agree with that. He’s had to adapt to two totally different styles of play and we’ll be better again. 11 goals all from open play isn’t a bad return considering who he played for
I still think most of this squad is top 10 material. Simply had some very **** tactical coaches in Beale and Dodds. Need that end product for sure but when the play style suits their abilities we will do well
There are no guarantees in football mate, I can’t imagine a decent centre forward making a difference under those circumstances. It was really weird playing under Dodds and the impetus went the moment we were told MD was in charge for the rest of the season. Then to compound matters we lost Clarke in January.
I don’t think we’re that bad! We’ll see in the first game! As for Ugbo, we couldn’t wait to get rid of him. See you on the 10th.
From what I can see the majority of Wednesday fans commenting are saying he's worth nowhere near that and wouldn't want their club to pay that for him.
Seeing as we've had no proven striker since Stewart, that coppers probs available on a free after he's done his bird of course.
