Definitely. People forget we are a championship club. I’d be excited to see how we could reinvest £15m+.

This is good news. We've got a bloated squad and need to get rid of these fringe players. Hemir out on loan is fine. I'd sell the other 2. Matete and Jewi don't have what it takes to make it here. I'd move Embo on too.

Just listened to le Bris’ interview. Really like him. Also was talking about working on improvements in the background regarding incomings I think and the fact we reduced the squad today looking the reduce the group and let people go that aren’t in his plans.

Really hope to see a CF arrive before cardiff

Hey guys, been out of action a few days and have limited to zero internet. Has there been any update on anything in the last few days? Other than what Le Bris just said in his interview?

I really like that Hemir, Bennette and Matete have essentially been sidelined. It’s harsh potentially, but it’s the kind of decisiveness around this squad that we need.

    Not really, no.

Vipotnik from Bordeaux (before they died) & Ugbo from Troyes linked in recent days.

thanks. I’m not surprised that what’s going on in France at the moment might delay any sort of transaction with French clubs. Especially with players becoming available

Ugbo genuine interest, Mendy deal halted because mbappe is investing in Caen and want to speak to him but he wants to leave and they also want more money. I think that’s about it bar a Finnish winger being linked and a young CM oh and also we are interested in Vipotnik but so are many others

Agree. Shame for the lads but we must be ruthless.

The potential new investors at Caen, who happen to be the Mbappe family, want to talk to Mendy.

Jan Vitopnik linked on a free, could be a lazy link after we were interested last summer though.

We've been brutal and effectively exiled Hemir, Matete and Jewi to the u21s.

You might be right, but he's only been here a season. A year on loan will allow us to be definitive.

I am going to call it mate, and hope I am wrong. I dont think he will make it here.

Mowbray had issues with him, nobody since has fancied him. Not sure what the issue is but there must be one somewhere. Wide open door this summer with a new coach and a centre forward space up for grabs. Somehow he has not shown up well enough. Shame, but either he isnt good enough or an attitude thing as Mowbray alluded to.

I am sorry for Matete, as I think there might be a really good player in there. I always loved his attitude on the pitch too. I would like to think we give him a decent move at a good price so he can settle somewhere and go again. He can get back to championship level with the right club / coach. Bolton would be a cracking fit.

That's one of the reasons Brighton got to where they are now, along with a very savvy owner.

I thought Browne linked up with Roberts and Hume especially in the first half. I think he will prove to be a very decent midfielder as the season progresses. It was noticeable how much the full backs moved into midfield whilst we were in possession.

We've never been good at selling players in my lifetime, until Stewart.

Firstly, no one wanted our players coz they were ****.

Secondly, we never sell players at there highest value. Got offered 20mill for Kone, can't remember what he left a year later for. Even back to Phillips, didn't Villa?? offer 20mill then signed him for pennies a year later.

The club need to sell our players at what they think is there maximum value to us. If Clarke doesn't sign a contract, his value is only going to go down. If Ekwah doesn't get a look in in midfield this year, his value is only going to go down.

We as fans also need to get used to selling players. For all of our collective moans and criticisms of them, we have an unbelievably young, talented, technical squad. Other teams want our lads, it's a good thing!

I agree with all of that and you can see Le Bris is having an effect but taking it slowly ...

... scary seeing Patterson approaching the centre circle at times though <whistle>

Hello, just signed up so this is my first post on here!

Occasionally post over the road in a wedge of all the word violence, few people will know me here from Twitter (cam/Prehab) I’m sure you’ve seen my posts if your on there.

Personally think that Ekwah leaving would be better for us as we will recoup some money to invest into positions that we aren’t stacked in, if we keep him then it would be difficult to give game time to the likes of Rigg/Browne/Neil & Jobe. So while I like Ekwah I do feel it may be best for us to move on if there’s a suitable bid on the table.

he’s of a good age now and has more games looking out of his depth and weak than he should do for me but clearly something in him.
