Matty Jacob is, unfortunately, having a mare of a game. Tim didn’t look happy at him.

I don't remember being 6ft or eating bacon being illegal.
I don't remember people going out 'bacon-eater bashing' or 'tall person bashing'.

so you should only celebrate something if it has previously been illegal?

Well it wasn't the hammering we feared. Good to finally see Walterball in action after hearing about it all summer. Some interesting movement, the fullbacks running inside to receive from the keeper seemed to work really well, and combined with McLoughlin making forward runs it made for defenders all over the place when we were attacking. I like it, but I think people will be just as impatient with it as they were with Rosenior's football when it's not working. I'm glad we have a clear identity and play on the front foot, just as I was with Rosenior too. We weren't opened up as much as I expected and didn't seem to suffer much from the risks we took at the back.

The problem, again just as last season, is that we still don't look like scoring goals. Lots of caveats right now in terms of personnel (Giles having to play on the wing is a particularly unsatisfying watch) but it feels very similar to last season; we play good stuff and get into good positions, but once it gets near the goal we never look confident, we often make the wrong decision and the chance fizzles out. Again, I acknowledge the caveats, but after being so confidently assured that our style of play was stopping us scoring and that this one would be so much better, I think the bar is high now and we have to see an increase in goals. Currently the attacking play looks very similar to last season, both in the good buildup and in the way it falls apart at the end.

Eating bacon could well be illegal somewhere down the line. It already is in a lot of places.

People weren't killed for being six foot. Eating bacon isn't a protected characteristic nor is it something which people have had to keep secret in years gone by just to fit into society.

You're not this ignorant of the history of the treatment of LGBTQ people, surely? Please tell me you have an awareness of what happened to people like us throughout history. Please.

If this is going somewhere toward the lines of "what about straight people day?" or "something something woke something something you identify as a hat stand" I'm going to shake hands with the strimmer.
