Chair still not in squad, it's starting to get worrying now. Is there a possibility he's doing community service( and the club are saying he has a back problem ? ). Celar only on bench . Surely Havertton should be starting, he's looked our best attacking threat from wingback, and he can take a good set piece. There just ain't goals in that starting 11 still. We desperately need to bring in a winger or 2 and an attacking mid !
Got a commentary-free stream which appears to be from China. Some good work cutting in from Lloyd set up Frey who laid it off to Smyth who wasted it. Fair to say the locals aren’t enthralled by facing a club as gargantuan as ours and haven’t attended in huge number.
In addition I think we need 2 central midfielders, one to replace Hayden and one to replace the Hodge / Dozzell position, a good passer of the ball who can link our defence to the attacking players.
40 minutes gone, lots of possession. Colback’s had a shot saved, Alfie Lloyd looks good. Most of our attacks are coming through Smyth and Andersen on the left.
Frey just had a header saved and Smyth hit the bar but the ball bounced on the wrong side of the line.
Sliced them open and set up Smyth who shot across the keeper and forced a decent save round the post.
Not looked capable of scoring all game. Smyth does all the hard work but you just always know his end product will result in nothing. Dykes on then off injured, not that anyone would notice
Not a bad first half but the second half we were awful. Sloppy passing and kept giving the ball away. I switched it off to watch the test match after 75 minutes.
