I got the train up to Belfast yesterday to see the Ire V Zimb game. It was a nice day out. Two of the lads I went with are clearly visible in this photo from the BBC website. You can just see my blue QPR cap from the Spurs friendly match to the left of the photo.
Under four an over. One wicket every 12 overs. Proper cricket. Nobody wants wickets or boundaries anyway.
Holder and Da Silva bring up the 100 partnership. The Windies are trying to make a game of it. ( Cue another batting collapse. )
Ireland all out 250, a lead of 40 thanks to a last wicket stand of 47...... Zimbabwe 12/0 at the close of day 2..... match nicely balanced....
That's not bad , from 54/5 to 376 all out, the England tail wagged really well..... Pressure back on WIndies during the final hour..... In the Ireland Zimbabwe Test Ireland bowled Zimbabwe out for 197i their 2nd innings, setting 158 to win, but Ireland have slumped to 33/5 in the chase....
My semi-regular opinion when I bother watching cricket that appeals being rejected due to an umpire’s call are absolute bollocks. It’s out or it’s not.
Sensational stuff from Wood, fast, swinging and vicious. Top fast bowling and thoroughly deserved for all his effort over the series !
In other news, having been 33/5 overnight, Ireland regrouped and reached the 158 target only losing 1 more wicket in the process to win by 4 wickets, great result and first Test victory on home soil.....
Some performance by Woods after lunch 5/9 in 6 overs..... Stokes opening for Crawley who's injured and takes 12 off the first over.... going all T20
