I too thought it was quite sensational. Thoughtfully blending John Ford and Sergio Leone with Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarentino, it's the most enjoyable three hours I've spent in an Odeon premier seat since Killers of the Flower Moon. Unfortunately Brady, it's just you and me. Everybody else thinks it's ****.
It's either love it or hate it. I was blown away by the whole Osage as richest people in the world thing as that'd passed me by entirely. Ended up reading everything I could find online about them and then the book on which the film was based. Absolutely loved Lily Gladstone's performance and thought she was nailed on for an Oscar until I saw Emma Stone in Poor Things. Reading about Native American film / TV led to watching Reservation Dogs which is the best comedy / drama series I've seen in the last couple of years. Except for maybe Beef.
Watching Black Money Love, Turkish with subtitles. Quite amusing to hear a bleep on the Turkish dialogue then see ****ing come up on the subtitles.
Quite enjoying the Turkish Detective series at the moment. Mixed with mostly English but a few subtitled Turkish bits
Just finished the first season of “ based on a true story,” absolutely ****ing loved it, so funny, 8 45/50 minute episodes, I thought it would be one of those really ****ing annoying yank crap but how wrong I was. The second series is next year cannot bloody wait….
Started watching High Country on iplayer. Watched 2/8 so far, not bad but reinforces my wish never to go to Aus!
Yorkshire By the Sea 8pm, Channel 4The ruggedly beautiful Yorkshire coastline is the focus of this factual series. We meet the Robson family from Bridlington who have been fishing in the area for generations, join the volunteers trying to protect the half-million birds nesting on the region’s chalk cliffs – and head to the resort fondly known as “Scarbados”.
