Is this man looking to destroy his career? He told his manager, when requesting a transfer, that he was "ready 'for another adventure" and that he wanted a new challenge. I get the impression that he does not make friends easily, which in the dressing room can cast you adrift of your team mates.
46 games, 13 goals, 9 assists for Rangers in Scottish league, it's not bad but he's not exactly shown he's too good for the league (11th in the league for assists, 18th for goals last season). Don't understand his reluctance to put his undoubted talent to use and put up the kind of numbers that force a bigger club to take a look, rather than moaning about it and forcing a move. Would not be surprised to see him end up at a Turkish/Greek/MLS club and retired by the time he's 30.
Not that long ago, according to many on here Cantwell could walk on water, all his issue's were down to mismanagement.
It's true that we lack a first class prima donna at the moment, but my impression is that Knapper and Thorup prefer it that way ..........
