From what your hearing, are you confident the squad will be of the same quality as we finished the season with ?

Ita hard to say as who knows which signings will happen and I can guarantee a couple will come in late that we probably don't even know will be available yet.... Hence why I'm waiting till the close of the window to really decide on how I feel

Last year we had a great start to season, I believe we can't repeat that this year, I hope ending will be better.

Given the end of last year was the culmination of a 2.5 year investment cycle and there's currently a ground up rebuild I'm expecting a season of consolidation, then hopefully they'll have another push when ffp dictates we can start using external (Acuns) resources again.

He's alluded to as much by saying he will reinvest the transfer fees but maybe we won't see all of the benefit straight away.

I seem to remember Acun at the Turkish press conference stating we weren't going to be buying cast-offs from Fenerbahce. Crespo might give us bite in the midfield though.

I think we'll see heavy(ISH) investment if we're in the mix come Jan

That seems to be the strategy. Opportunistic. Probably because we can't sustain the levels we saw from Jan last year on a permanent basis over 3 years or however long the contracts would be.

I'm not hearing to much ATM, everything is being kept very quiet. But what I am hearing I like, but I'm also taking things with a pinch of salt

What you’ll see next week if it all goes to plan is Oscar coming in, a RB, a CB and a striker (if it gets signed off).

I was told the RB is in England and didn’t fly out to Turkey as it wasn’t sorted until Friday, so there wasn’t much point and he’s been training alone to keep fit. Should be in the squad for Donny.

A DM isn’t far off either and the names mentioned above from Turkey are serious targets. Crespo and Zajc want to come, not sure about the other fella but it’s about sorting a deal with Fener as they want at least €4m for Crespo and want the non-EU slots they will free up. Zajc isn’t much I think because they want him gone.

Striker is domestic and a loan with an option, currently nobody else in for him to scupper it as far as we know.

3 in next week will go a long way to settling the nerves. Very intrigued who the CB is as I think it's a very specialised position under Tim and we haven't really heard any rumours as yet. The striker coming from prem?

If all parties are sensible then I think it could be, but...others would be very interested

Would Morton fit the bill as a more physical, defensive minded no 6 that we know the manager wants?

Yes, but not at the price mentioned. Simons emergence has also been a factor. The club wanted him back and Liverpool were happy to do it, but Simons has done so well (and Tinsdale, actually) that we've held off for now. Might cost us if we go elsewhere, but I like him, I think for a player of that ability you're always going to pay more than you need to, whether he fits Tim's system is another matter entirely.
