Whisper it quietly but Hemir has held the ball up really really securely - and pressed pretty well too.
Matete and Embleton can't be anywhere near the starting 11 when the season starts. It may seem harsh but neither of them have the capabilities to play on the half turn and start attacks from deep, Matete in particular. Our build up play through the middle of the pitch is non-existent.
Pembélé takes too long to react, Moore's dives are too theatrical and we need to get some supply to Hemir ... ... attacking subs needed ASAP.
I am not watching the match as I tend to find early pre season to be a bit nondescript so having a beer in the garden. Wanted to comment on your post though as it is interesting. I first came across coaches working from the inside of the pitch quite a few years ago when I did my FA level 2. There were 2 coaches from Arsenal academy on the same course as me and they both did it. To me it was unique as everyone else was coaching from the touchline. We werent quiet, just a vocal and instructive. The lead FA mentor was from sheff wed and a great coach. He flipped their session a bit and we focussed on the value of being inside the pitch. The Arsenal coaches said it was encouraged because you see the player movements better from the middle, and the spaces etc, and also you can give small individual adjustments to players as they get close to you. I tried it and it was quite a skill to master. You have to have a really quick eye but I started doing it when I was coaching younger age groups and it was very effective for them. Less so I found for adult players, but that was more down to my abilities than theirs I suspect. I did my UEFA B licence a couple of years later and it was more common, but still not dominant. We had a ladies coach from Everton who did it brilliantly. My preference when coaching was always to replicate game based scenarios, really short focussed almost bite sized parts of the game. Regis looks to be similar in that respect. I like it that way as players seem to learn more in 10 minute bursts of info then some repetition. Anyway I am boring folk I suspect. Point is it is reasonably common to coach from inside the pitch and it is a very effective way of doing it in my experience. I have been miced up a few times when coaching and it is quite an experience too. One day I will share a story about one incident when miced up that had me in stitches at the time.
Unfortunately i think both are L1 players at the minute and we need better in there I think there's a few players in todays team that will move on in the next few weeks
