" ....... we are committed to open recruitment processes in the football industry" But you have to have delivered results in the Premier League or equivalent standard league. That sounds very open.
Rather predictably, they've promoted Lee Carsley from the u21s to the senior team. Only interim for now but watch this space...
Cos they all need to rest if they get half a chance. Two pissy nations leaguengames coming up and you could have a week off with a knock or go play for an interim coach nobody thinks will be in place after that nations lesgue cycle. The season coming is going to wipe the floor with some England players.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Carsley get the job on a permanent basis if the Nations League results are good . The U21's last summer played with a clear plan and style which they had obviously been coached in which is a clear contrast to this summers debacle
Its going to be Carsley. Full time FA delaying on purpose so that they can pick the man they always wanted and declaring there was nobody else was available. Pochettino the latest to be out of the running as it looks like he'll be taking the USA job. Not saying Poch would have been the right choice, but rather the FA would rather have 'one of their own' who is already in with the FA, than looking at other options.
Don’t get that reasoning? Why not just appoint him full time in that case? If he’s the one they want I can’t see them delaying things - doesn’t benefit anyone?
The nations league games are a soft launch. They're games nobody really cares about and as interim there is virtually no pressure on him. Things go well they appoint him full time and claim he proved himself. Things don't go well, they can say 'oh well, he was just an interim' and avoid any flak. I've no problem with him getting the job, especially if he's good enough and it was always part of the succession planning (which is something more football clubs should be doing). But the FA do look abit sneaky doing it this way, they should grow some balls and say that he was always their option cause that was the plan.
