Mine was Message in a bottle by the Police.

And still like it.

Never realised that Sting was a Geordie till years later. I just disliked him for being an arrogant twerp.

 

Definitely Maybe - Oasis.

Still absolutely top levels tunage today.

I don't want to admit to some of the first things I ever bought, but one I remember buying quite early on that I still listen to is Phenomenon by UFO

 

One of my first albums I bought was Never mind the Bollocks by the Sex Pistols

Made a copy of a mate's album on tape so my first album was Absolutely

 

Never really bought singles, but the first one bought for me was She Loves Me.

Squeeze, Cool for Cats, still got the record, it’s a pink disc. Still love Squeeze

 

Saw them live when they toured with Madness a couple of years ago. First time I've ever seen them live and they were absolutely brilliant!

 

We had Squeeze by and led for our university student hall summer ball the year they had their first big hit Cool for Cats. We were pleased that they honoured such a small event at the original very low fee, which had been agreed before tye single came out.

The other two acts had n the night were Marmalade, who were well past their fame and Reckless Eric

 

If you mean the very first one it was this I think from The Spinning Disk in town.

I’m fairly certain that the first proper record I bought was AC/DC’s Highway To Hell album. It was actually a cassette and I bought it from Boots in the town centre. It’s amazing what four years did to my music education.

 

Ditto. I don't have it but my sister claimed it off me and she has it in her Duke Box.....she still has the cover.

This was my first album. Still got the price sticker on £2.99p. Reckon it's 10x + that now!

 

My wife bought me one and I got the old 45's out, the sound quality through a decent set of speakers is amazing.

 

Fantastic song, but Cool for cats has the best innuendo line, "I'm invited in for coffee so I gave the dog a bone"
