My lad when he was captain at primary school and first 2 years of next school always picked two girls in small sided games, one in goal who went on playing for various teams until she was 40 and another who was tall, lightning quick and had a hell of a shot on her. Unfortunately the tall one developed quickly and could no longer play in boy’s games because of changing room problems.
When he played union when 14-16 his favourite coach was a female one. Knowledgeable and ruthless. Still involved when my grandson started playing 3 years ago and just as keen on winning when watching her own son playing.
