Went to that, but sneaked in with my mate, as we’d been playing tennis! And didn’t have the entrance fee between us. Waggy came out to bat with a pint in his hand. Left it behind the stumps. Funny thing is, I’ve been chatting about this today!
Might have been a decent journalist but can't spell, I know I know... The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Almost nicked the game at Stamford Bridge 6 weeks later and sadly lost the replay at home 5 days after that. Fair bit of hitch-hiking that week with an overnight attempted sleep-over in a shop doorway in King's X. Happy days.
Just happened across this, penalty my arse. Scott Mathieson, the **** him, will always have a welcome in the hillside.
From BBC Sport on his signing: Hull land Appleby Hull City have made Kidderminster midfielder Richie Appleby their third signing of the summer. Appleby moves to Hull on a three-year deal and will join up with his new team-mates at the start of July. The 26-year-old had been tracked by Hull manager Jan Molby, who worked with him at Kidderminster, for some time. Hull assistant Gary Barnett said: "Richie will bring a lot of bravery to the side. "He makes others around him play and gets things ticking simply because he demands the ball a lot. "Hopefully we will see the best of Richie at Hull City because he hasn't yet fully reached his potential. "He's looking forward to turning out in front of large crowds week in, week out. "He'll certainly be doing that at Hull City and wants to produce the goods consistently on that kind of stage." Former Motherwell skipper Greg Strong and Newcastle United starlet Stuart Green, who is on a one-season loan, are Hull's other close-season signings. Count the optimistic claims, falsehoods and downright untruths.
