Very true but have other clubs lost as many as us? I'm the most relaxed about signings but even I'm starting to question some things.
I dunno Man C must love us as we’ve helped them get £20m for their player Villa have seen so much in their player they’ve took him back Liverpool have seen us put confidence back into one of their players and also pushed on hugely with the development of another We’ll be fine for loanees when that time comes
Yeah that prompted us to sign Jaden by all accounts so hopefully last night gave them a kick up the backside
But the players have to be there for them to send them to us. The current crop of City and Liverpool youngsters don't look that great. And this is where the strategy falls down. We don't need kids who've got no senior football experience, we need players that come in and hit the ground running.
It's not exactly a signing of the calibre of Morton or Fabio, is it? Young kid, who's never been capped for England at youth level which is pretty rare when you play for Liverpool. It's the sort of signing you make when you're skint
It's certainly not Morton/Carvalho calibre, but he's just signed a new long term contract at Liverpool and we're allegedly one of five clubs trying to sign him, so presumably he's got something about him.
I'm sure he's got something about him but I'm far from convinced with these types. He's 2 years younger than Morton and he still has a lot of learning to do. I just feel our current predicament doesn't lend itself well to signing raw youngsters. Surely there are players in L1 that would be a better option on a budget if we want some depth.
Bedwetting after a battering by a Champions League team with a team that’ll be made up of our subs by the end of the window. Come on people.
Really? I don’t think anyone is complaining about yesterday’s game. I think most understand why it happened. Calling any reasonable complaint bedwetting is just brushing anything under the carpet. Theres players in that XI that will start a large share of games for us. We knew loans would be gone and on top of that we likely knew everyone bar Tufan was going. Yet here we are with 2 weeks till season starts with arguably the worst squad in the championship. We’ve been calling it for weeks not because of a friendly against a champions league team
That Walter interview really did remind me of the famous Steve Bruce ‘Ask Ehab’ interview. Hopefully once the team are back in the U.K. from Monday things might kick into gear. The big money sales are done now so no excuses.
Whilst I agree that some people are maybe overreacting to the state of things (which is nothing new), I don't think all of the complaints about the squad situation can be dismissed on the basis that the squad will look different by the end of the window. As we know, players take time to bed in, they've all missed the entire training camp now, and their physical condition will probably be the next problem for us if they're coming in late. The last thing we need is another injury situation like we had two seasons ago and that was blamed on a disjointed pre-season. Hopefully TW will be maintaining or building on the work LR did in that respect, but it can't help him if he's relying on signings coming in and being immediate starters week in week out at Championship level, like Shota had to do two years ago. That year the injuries snowballed because the set of injuries we started the season with meant that everyone left had to play way more minutes than they should've been doing, and then many of those started getting injured too. If we find ourselves with an injury crisis in the autumn/winter time, we can't say it's just bad luck and nothing could've been done...
I dont think anyones over reacting Its a dire situation we are in We have the worst squad in the league And like you say Signings have to adjust etc etc And we dont just need 1 or 2
