A mixed night for Kone - after scoring Canada's equaliser against Uruguay in the Copa America play-off, his miss in the penalty shoot out helped cost them third place.
Still living the "Watford B" title are Wednesday. They must have signed more former/current Watford players in the past few years than anyone.
Obviously hasn’t worked out for Sarr in France . https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/24455937.former-watford-forward-sarr-heading-marseille/
No big surprise really -a waste of a good player. Plenty of talent but totally lacking in commitment - more often than not just didn't want to play. I hope the club never, ever make a mistake like that again
I watched him playing for Marseille a few times, and he really didn't show the talent that he possess. I thought that being a French speaker, he would fit in there well, but it didn't happen. To my mind he is basically a winger with outstanding pace, who can cut in from the wing to score some goals. However, as Marseille were finding goals difficult to come by, he was asked to play as a central striker often. He looked lost, and when pulled off didn't seem that happy, but not too bothered either. I suspect that he wasn't that happy in France, but it will be interesting to see who makes a bid for him.
Only seemed he half happy when playing for Senegal. Rest seemed like a chore for him and his ability.
Certainly Pearson seemed to get the best out of him and Munoz . Good man managers rather than the defensive ones we had otherwise.
Palace are apparently keen on signing Ismaila Sarr. The Crystal one, not the royal one... https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/56...l-palace-transfers/?source=emp_shared_article
I'm not sure that he ever lived up to the expectations that he arrived here with - but good luck to him.
No agree . Did have the odd good moments but spent a lot of time cutting inside or trying to score a wonder goal /fall over .
I often wondered about his habit of cutting inside - ie was he told to play that way? For a left winger he spent an awful lot of time trying to get the ball onto his right foot - I can't really remember him putting over too many crosses with his left.
This was down to IV Martins very right footed played on the left and Asprilla very left footed played on the right which meant the only crosses came from the full backs or Semma
