So Southgate quits. Kind of like us with Klopp leaving your left with the question who is even out there to take the job.
Couple of things I noted during the final and tournament. Not seen much of Bellingham before but wasn't to impressed with what I saw but that could be down to Southgates tactics. He did come across as a very arrogant prick almost Ronaldo like. Also surprised Walker didnt get much criticism as I thought he was at fault for both Spains goals.

I'm glad. Can't be watching drivel and knowing you could have done better.

Not one of the games were scraped by was a game a more positive England performance could not have won and won well.

Serbia scraped by defending for 45mins
Denmark really could even hold the lead so scraped by anyway
Slovenia utter dross, never gave a squad player a go. Boring.
Slovakia. Piss easy last 16 game. Absolutely scraped by
Swizterland. So negative til they scored then opened up then shut bacl down again and scraped by
netherlands, not a good team imo but best of the lot. Defended until they scored then opened up again and pushed them about.

thats not enjoyable. Another approach could win all thsoe games and we all know it

As for who next, well from the little
englander requirement and the field for the best paid international job opens right up but if you really want to get the best in just double le Southgate salary number for next 4 years and I'll bet England win one.

I agree on bellingham. Shocked he wasn't sent off tbh.

I agree on walker. Absolute joke.

Just give it to Alan Shearer and be done with it. He knows everything about football and he's always right.

yep i thought Walker was a weak link defensively all tournament as he is regularly out of position and just seems to assume his pace will get him out of trouble .

Been saying for years Walker isn’t a top defender. Positionally he’s atrocious and he just manages to get of those situations sometimes by being a lot quicker so can recover.

But was either at fault or partly at fault for 4 goals in the euros.

Swiss goal he’s wrong side of Embolo to tap into empty net.

Slovakia I think it was guy flicks it on and Walker is next to stones in middle of the goal and runs in total opposite direction to where the man with the ball is so get into the RB position 20 yards from where any action is taking place.

And then the 2 Spain goals he’s nowhere to be seen.

Talk about TAA defending and yes he’s not the best, but Walker isn’t any better positionally. Just had speed and strength to cover at times.

I've been reading people saying that one thing Southgate should be praised for was the substitutions like it was some sort of genius move. I see it as him putting on the players who should have started in the first place and reaping the benefits of what those players actually bring to the game. Palmer and Watkins score goals, bring them on and .... they score goals. Yes Kane and Bellingham are also known for scoring goals but were seriously underperforming yet played and played.

Walker is in UEFA Team of the Tournament.
Perhaps they never actually watched it.

Absolutely. I've heard people calling him a tactical genius for his substitutions. Comical.

Probably thought seeing as England made the final, should have at least one player in the team. If there had to be one, I don't know which England player I would have chosen.

Mental isn’t it. Worry is that the team was decided by a panel of experts including capello Benitez and moyes as well as some analytic people.
