Not sure . They had Madrid on the ropes in the semi final but took off attacking players and conceded 2 goals
Yes it does . You should aim to win any tournament . We could easily end up in a group with Spain ,Italy ,Sweden and Romania
It is obvious what they should do. Appoint a committee from not606 to pick the squad, determine the formation and tactics and then get someone in to oversee things on match days. Guaranteed success.
Take your pick... . https://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/england/next-permanent-manager
very few managers at int or domestic level get to leave a job on their own terms, so fair play to him for that after 8 years.
They should do, he's the clear and outstanding candidate. I know he was an 'unfashionable' player but he's shown he's a terrific coach at England youth level, he's tactically very good, flexible with a good brand of football. He's took the 21s to another level and they're a great watch. He'd probably get a bit of criticism if he's announced but I think he'll win people over quickly. I'd imagine he'll be put in temporary charge for the September internationals like Southgate was and he'll keep it from there.
Apparently, when Gareth passed his resignation to the FA, they passed it back, he then passed it sideways to Bellingham, who fed Kane, who then passed it to the keeper
Southgate has done a wonderful job did not win the big one so that puts Ramsey ahead of him but other than him the most successful manager in Englands history. Thanks Gareth put England back on the map again. Re successor the Athletic has good article on who his succesor will be. At the top of the list are Pep and Jurgen. Both exciting appointments but unlikely unfortunately given the FA's past history. Suspect it will be either Carsley or Potter both uninspiring choices but people said that about Gareth,.
I think England will benefit from a difficult group stage. We need exposure to some pressure during qualifiers and in group games at major championships. To be honest, it was time for Southgate to step aside, but I am a bit gutted for him that his time as England manager didn’t end on a high, as I think he has achieved more than anyone really expected when he was hired. Although saying that, his last game was a tournament final. Shows how far he has brought us that losing a final is considered a failure. Got to get behind whoever is put in charge and give them a fair shot.
Yes list to the best team in the Competition and that's fair enough . I feel the Italy final is the one that's harder to concede as we had them really
I still can't get my head around us losing that shootout. Pickford made two saves, including from Jorginho who at that time never missed. Maguire broke the camera in the top corner of the net with his pen. Kane scored emphatically too. Italy must've been ****ting it at that point having seen the quality of our first two pens, and JP making saves. Yet it was us who then collapsed with three consecutive misses. That was the one we really should've won.
