Good Morning. It's Tuesday 16th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Distinct possibility Piroe could be on the move Transfer expert Graeme Bailey has claimed that Joel Piroe could be on the move this Summer, amid interest from several English, and European clubs! The 24yo netted 14 times in 2700 of league game time last season, but was benched on the rare occasions Bamford was fit. His lack of pace was a cause of concern for Farke, who experimented with a role reversal with Georginio Rutter; alas, it didn't work out! 14 goals and 3 assists from 30 starts for the Whites, coupled with 41 goals in 91 appearances for Swansea show Piroe has a natural ability in-front of goal, and should guarantee a healthy profit on the £10m they forked out on him last Summer. Interestingly, former Sky Sports journalist Bailey also told that Bamford is also available, as if it was commo knowledge! Speaking exclusively to LeedsUnited.News, Bailey was quoted as saying: “We think that is the case [Leeds signing a striker]. We are hearing that Piroe may be on the move and Bamford is available as we know. There is still quite a lot to happen at Elland Road with the squad, might be one in, one out. Farke wants a bit more and I think he will bring a striker in. “There is interest in Piroe from a few places, it hasn’t quite worked out for him since he arrived so it’s an interesting one. I think there is quite a bit of interest from abroad but we will see how that transpires.” please log in to view this image Everton re-open talks over Gnonto deal Everton have re-opened talks with their Leeds Utd counterparts about signing Wilfred Gnonto this Summer, following the expected £50m sale of Midfielder Amadou Onana. The Toffee's are big fans of the Italian International, and came close to signing him last Summer; but Leeds refused to be low-balled. The deal then fell through, causing Gnonto to go on strike to try and force the move. After apologising, he was welcomed back to the fold, and had a positive influence on the team, albeit not as much as was expected! Anything less than £25m just would not make sense for the Whites to sell him. He has bags of unrealised potential and the ability to make a big difference in the Championship when playing well. With three years left on his contract, Leeds are very much in the driving seat as far as negotiations go. We must also remember that former club FC Zurich are due a massive sell-on fee! please log in to view this image Whites to revisit Skipp deal With the £8.5m sale of Finnish International Glen Kamara imminent, Leeds have been tipped to revisit Spurs, and launch another attempt to tempt Oliver Skipp to West Yorkshire. The 23yo only played a bit role for Tottenham last season, completing only 695 minutes of game time last season, and with the arrival of Archie Gray, could fall further down the pecking order. Skipp played under Daniel Farke whilst on loan with Norwich during their 20/21 campaign, and now wants him back on a permanent basis. Ange Postecoglou see's a lot of potential in Skipp, and doesn't want to see him leave before they can extract as much money as they can from the former England U21 starlet. Money talks, and with a further £8.5m on top of sales from Cresswell, Llorente, Roca and Gray, may be able to table an offer that even Daniel Levy will find hard to turn down! please log in to view this image
Good morning all Why the hell we bought a top quality striker (which he is) in Piroe, for which we are crying out for, and didn’t play him to his obvious strenghs is beyond me, bit like buying Pele and putting him in as a central defender.
Morning all Farke and Piroe is one of the examples I have regarding Farkes limitations as a coach. If we sell Piroe to another Championship team it will haunt us. The annoying thing will be if we sell Piroe and later on sack Farke. I’m sure there are many coaches at this level that would bite your hand off for Piroe
At nearly one goal every two games, those type of forwards are usually difficult to find but sure lets replace him for someone who can’t score but can run fast. We’ll also be strengthening a rival if we sell him to a championship club. No one will be buying Bamford with the money he’s on.
I believe the problem getting Skipp isn't with Spurs, he apparently doesn't want to drop down to the championship, if we get him, I think it could be at the end of the window, if no PL club come in for him
Firpo has option to leave Betis are circling for Firpo on loan. He only has a year on his contract left and he has one of Ortas loan clauses in his contract. It couldn’t activate last season as he was injured and we met our maximum amount of oversea loans permitted
Just heard Kiefer Moore to the Blunts was £2m. I would have signed him in a flash. He can hold the ball up, he's a big target man (something we don't have) and a natural goal scorer at this level.
Bamfords a weird one, every season we want him replaced, every season he hits a purple patch and we realise we need him, every season he misses that vital goal when scoring looked easier or he gets injured at a critical time.
Junior Firpo has option to leave Leeds on loan (credit to leedsunited.news) Although Leeds have so far managed to avoid a repeat of last summer, it would appear a key member of last season’s first team squad does have the option to leave on loan. Despite Archie Gray’s sale easing Leeds’ PSR concerns, it is looking likely that another two big-names are headed for exits, all be it permanently. One of the interested clubs in Firpo is reportedly his former one Real Betis, who have already signed Roca and Llorente from Leeds this summer. Firpo’s name is said to have came up in talks for both of those players, and they now view him as a realistic option to strengthen at left-back. Losing the ‘relentless‘ Firpo would be a real blow to Leeds as he established himself as a key player under Daniel Farke, providing eight assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. His exit would leave Leeds with yet another position that needs strengthening, in what is becoming a frustrating window
He’s 32 next month, he wanted and got a three year deal. He’d be one we were stuck with if promoted and I’m not convinced he’d be the right choice
