Was just at Finsbury Park station, where a Spanish couple, in home and away Spain shirts, were booed onto the platform Station PA system playing Three Lions got them laughing
Love vindaloo. It's randomness is its brilliance. Might be a timing thing as wasn't that written for France '98
Football has actually made me hate Sweet Caroline soooooo much. Luckily it's making up for it later by coming home.
Three Lions is not only the best England song but arguably the best football song ever written. Can't think of another that can get millions of people singing it over 20 years after it was written. I do think it'll become redundant after we win tonight though. Football can only come home once and I think once that itch has been scratched it'll lose its importance. Currently got the '98 version on - "The crosses of St George are flying all around me.... Gareth Southgate, the whole of England is with you".
It's painful. Cricket made me hate Sweet Caroline first - but at least, for a number of years, it was confined to cricket. Now that it's spilled over into football, I can't get away from it. Three Lions is a vastly, vastly superior football anthem.
I managed about 5 mins of the semi and I didn’t see any goal live. Wonder what I’ll achieve tonight…especially as I lack all hope. Sorry, did I say that out loud Hoping to be soooooo wrong. See you on the other side
Massive. Hope he’s actually fully fit and up for it. Will be a tough night. I thought Gareth may have gone 4 at the back against Spain. Feels like their wingers could have a field day.
Mate of mine has a gig in Valencia tonight. Sold out, and they’re on stage in about half an hour. I fear there might actually be a few empty seats, and for a British band, it’s going to be a bit hairy!
Just turned the footy on as I was watching the Scottish Open golf. I thought Rob McIntyre was going to take it to a playoff, just to punish the English viewers but he won with a birdie on the last. Come on England.
