Not sure it will without any evidence. And with the assailant dead I’m not sure there will be anything unless they have a really obvious personal trail of posting their views online or the like. But people will believe what they want to believe anyway. Let’s just say he was actually from the far right and didn’t think Trump was extreme enough on certain things (backing away from his abortion stance or project 2025) - seems unlikely but if that were the case and it was released by the Feds those on the right would say that this was made up by the Feds. And the same is true if he turns out to be antifa and stuff about that is released. It’s so polarised now That said this will likely sway independents Also - it being staged seems pretty ludicrous. It seems that Trump had blood on him and people have died. It would take a previously unimagined level of nefariousness. And also a crazy amount of organisation. But that fact that some are even suggesting it is staged shows how polarised things are

That's one of the things being said, that one of the secret service guys cut his ear when they dived to the floor. Then they let him stand back up which seems strange with a live shooter out there so enhances the strangeness and feeds the conspiracies

To be fair, on the live feed where the lectern mic is still live, you can hear them say shooter down before they attempt to move DT. I'm as cynical as they come but find it pretty hard to believe this is a hoax. Just another bad, bad day for democracy. Despicable stuff and the world is in a dangerous spot right now. What makes me sad, aside from that, is that I suspect gun control still won't get the action and conversation that it truly deserves, even after someone threatens the life of yet another president

I dunno. You could argue he needs some taller protection agents but I can't see how else they could act. There were thousands of people there and you can't leave Trump on the ground covered by secret service agents until the crowd have all been dispersed. They surrounded him tightly as they left.
I just think letting him stand back up on the podium was rash. They could have hustled him out and not exposed him further. I'm not secret service obviously but making him the highest point in the crowd again seems careless
This is the part that makes me sad, the innocent life lost in an assassination attempt. And the fact that assassination was even considered to be the best option in this case
True. Although I think it's fair to say Trump wasn't doing what they told him to and it's not easy to react in that situation. Say what you want about Trump but he's a master at PR and presentation. He knew exactly what he was doing when he stood tall and raised his fist like that.
