Aouchiche brings the link between the midfield and the striker much better than Jobe does. Rusyn looks a lot more isolated compared to how Mayenda did with Aouchiche behind him
Only think is I think Mayenda fits the system as a lone striker more than a big target man would. Aouchiche does a very good job at linking the midfield and the forward line
Shambles a the back. Literally just said the right side is way way off. Pembele and 09 are miles off it.
We seemed to have more cohesion in the Shields game where we played as a team, this game there's just no cohesion whatsoever. Yes we're all over at the back but there's nothing in midfield either. I wonder whether these players are either still trying to put RLB's instructions into action or they're just not suited to it
I think it's because it's a higher opposition against blokes. That's what stands out for me. Far far more competitive
Gateshead are a much better team than Shields but the team against Shields we had 11 players all on their game. Against Gateshead a number of the players appear well below where they should be notably Embleton, Matete, Bennette and Pemebele (defensive wise). Our midfield is non-existent this afternoon.
