Greaves has almost 200 pro appearences already His injury record is incredible Left footed We got absolutely fleeced
Morecambe announce 15 incomings at once (including our Callum Jones on loan ...again)!. Maybe we'll be doing the same?
Agreed they’re in complete denial about how they’ve handled the finances and are deflecting at Rosenior and Allsop
But, you can almost build a City XI now for Fantasy Football. Dan Bentley (GK) - almost signed for us under Phelan, other than that there are no keepers that used to play for City in the PL. Robertson Maguire Greaves Philogene Cairney Morton Wilson KLP Delap Bowen
Where has Baz got this massive figure of 37-50m what’s the break down there or is everyone just lying to us. Starting to piss me off I’d like a bit of clarity.
We do get £18m for Jaden (of which we have to give about £5m back) and we get £15m for Jacob so there’s £33m. Theres probably some add ons in there not being reported plus sell on fees. It wouldn’t surprise me when all said and done City get about £45m all in all. Just have to wait for some of the rest
There's never one singular reason why we didn't get top 6, there's loads. Just to name a few; should we have really pushed the boat out for Darlow? Why did we sign a half-injured Vinagre and not sort out the LB position properly? Why are we signing crap like Lokilo? And we went into the last week of the summer window wanting a few additional forward options but got none, so why did we leave ourselves so short, especially in the wide areas? He used the term 'including sell-ons' no idea how you can say that when we've no idea what Greaves will be sold for, or when. It's crystal ball bollocks to gloss over the fact we've got a **** deal.
Totally agree. No one can question ambition after January given we were looking on course for it after the first half of the season, unfortunately they’ve shafted us this season, that’s fine they just need to be honest about it rather than saying we need to improve and get in the playoffs
Recruitment was better last year, I mean that's not hard but it still was. The problem is though we signed 17 senior pros, only 6 of them are still here, two of those are Furlong & Simons and Lokilo and Giles will probably leave. So Omur & Pandur will be the only ones remaining. That's why we're in a complete mess right now. And from the Summer 22 recruitment, there's only Seri, Oscar & Sinik left and they could reasonably all leave. This short-term revolving door has to stop.
I remember having a discussion with you in our first Acun summer that gambling on signing a young player each year who would fund the next round of business was risky and we're seeing the results of it.
It doesn't feel like much for Greaves, unless their decent re sell clause. But, if we total all the transfer fees, reduced salaries, extra commercial and match income, the extra headspace with FSP....do we think we have £60 mil to play with???
You can do it but you need to be signing younger players permanently than we have. Our policy is completely short term and I'd love to understand the logic behind it. Even this summer, there's plenty of young players you can sign for reasonable fees that we could develop. Hughes at Wigan, there's Burrows if we need a fullback, Dembele is available on a free, as is Drameh, Shola Shoretire has left Man Utd so would be available for compensation and I've always like Poku too. They might take a little time to settle in but there's some very decent players you can bring in without spending the earth.
