Mayenda looks very good btw. Really impressed with how relentless he is pressing. Getting himself in the right positions too
The style of football looks very good. Very high press with very fast transitions too. Good service into the box too
We all keep saying its only pre-season against non league but Mundle defintely looks dangerous. Hopefully he can show the same desire when the season starts proper
I'm ecstatic Mundle looks good like. Really difficult him coming in second half of last season during our capitulation. Hopefully can save us some cash if Clarke goes. Buzzing for Mayenda too (Not withstanding the quality of the opposition)
I'm liking how we only start 'playing football' when the ball is in their half ... ... we pick the ball up and it's over the halfway line quickly. That's what we need at the SOL, our style killed the atmosphere in the second half of last season.
well worth the £7 for the South shields game 0-5 half time !, 0-8 i predict. the weather crap though today, our new player will probably play at Nottingham forest, that is some tough game for a friendly like.
Thought Mundle should have been played more towards the end last season, I would not mind him having a shot leading the line tbh., especially after we lost Rusyn
See how we do against Notts Forrest. Then I'll get excited. It's nice to see but this shields side are absolutely horrendous.
We need to take the opposition into context here, these are such a poor team. Other than some fitness, and a small bit of confidence we will get nothing much from this game.
Definitely Smug, we normally play early pre season at walking pace but that first half was high tempo and high press, everyone looked up for it. I have missed the football so I am really enjoying it.
would like to see the keeper given a bit more work, nothing to guage him on but he certainly looks assured, mayenda/mundle both looking sharp and full of running, roberts looks sharp, hjelde/anderson look like they need a couple more games but both doing ok, rigg/neil/adil keeping things ticking over while hume/ballard solid as ever. good little work out for both teams, shields have had some canny moves as well and they wont be facing a championship team every week.
