That's for effect. The wrestlers always get a ref to act like the can stop someone for the storyline.
By going into the stand to attack fans Last time... praise him for standing up for his family, I applaud that too, but he still attacked fans and he'll receive punishment for it. You can't do it.
You clearly can. Don't be all German about this. You can do anything you like, you just get punished after doing it. Can't is not the right word. Shouldn't is better.
Two bottles on film Where said bottles came from is unknown. Again classic extreme wrestling moves there.
Problem is now it could be AI deepfakes Ftr I think it will be quite a heavy ban and rightly so Although I think a LOT of questions need to be asked about the security levels The fact he is defending his family should be taken into account but you simply cannot react like that at a football match imho
Yeah, no problem with anyone defending their family but in a situation like that there are hundreds of people many of which could be (or are likely to be) nutters. Could have caused a total riot even though he was in the right.
Video of Nunez consoling his child, who was passed down onto the pitch, after the altercation in the stands where the families were seated. I don’t agree with the statement above it that “he had to go and fight”. He chose to. https://x.com/FavianRenkel/status/1...231726569665007¤tTweetUser=FavianRenkel
reports since are suggested his family were already on the pitch before Nunez climbed up Can't see many families in the stands on the giraffe I've seen, Nunez also good straight to the front to fight, didn't check on anyone
It’s a very difficult one isn’t it. The pictures with him and the baby show him without his black heart rate vest on so obviously been taken after his jump into the stands, now they are all safe. Ugarte’s mother apparently collapsed during the altercation and in Giminez’ post match video he says that the families, including a newborn baby, were under attack and because there were no police or security, the players took it into their own hands. I think 11 are being investigated. It goes against everything you think about how players should behave. Tensions obviously very high anyway and I’m finding it hard to outright say Nunez should have stayed calm and not got involved because spousal and parental instinct to protect kicks in and affects each of us differently. On the face of it, obviously it’s wrong but there were mitigating circumstances. I was watching my son’s basketball game years ago when an opposing player pushed him into the table (there’s always a table near the court for scorekeepers, the smaller the venue, the closer the table is to the court). He hit his eye on the corner of the table and in shock, I jumped up, ran on the court and fronted the player. There was no way I was going to touch him or fight or anything like that but my parental instinct kicked in and nobody was going to do that to my lad. I was escorted back to my seat. Had you told me beforehand that I would react like that, I’d have said you were crazy but in the actual heat of the moment, I had to ‘defend’ my son. In a more professional setting, I could maybe have been banned from attending again and honestly, I would have taken that.
He'll be in trouble either way but if he's gone in AFTER his family are safe they'll throw the book at him
He’s definitely in trouble and whether or not it’s understandable that he reacted the way he did, he should be punished or it sends the wrong message. I think in focussing on his actions, there’s been no talk about the abysmal lack of security and policing of the event that allowed such a thing to happen in the first place. CONMEBAL may want to act swiftly with minimal punishment to get the story out of the limelight and take attention away from their lack of professionalism in organising a tournament that puts them in a bad light.
Seriously folks when you have to ban half of the entire team then it's going to get swept under the carpet with a fine. Nobody hurt. Colombian fans probably boasting the beat those players up etc etc.
