... he was their player of the year, captain and has missed more games through suspension than injury.

 

I'm surprised that there have been no comments from the posters who have consistently accused the club of recruiting on the cheap.

I'm ****ing delighted when the club get a good player for nowt. Weird to want your club to spunk away their capital.

 

Completely agree. Great signing. Imo,going into this next season we needed a cdm and a couple of front runners,obviously depending on outgoings and injuries.
If we keep our key players,including Clarke for another year, sign a ready made striker,and can find a back up,who might already be here,get our injured players back....this is a seriously good squad,which,with the right coaching and preparation,can go to the top of this league. I think our recruitment team know what to do and I'm getting very optimistic that everyone else might see us as the team to beat.

 

Some people will convince themselves they've pushed the club into this kind of signing ...
