I think Gareth Southgate has earned the right to pick the ****ing team tbh, but feel free to keep telling him where he’s going wrong
I think man for man England have the strongest team/ squad in the whole tournament, felt that from the start. I don’t think I’ve known an England squad in my life time to have this much talent through out, previous eras have probably had better XIs but this squad is nuts. Guys that aren’t even getting off the bench would start for the majority of teams at this tournament. But as many know I’ve always thought Southgate would hold us back, thankfully he actually managed well today so there’s definitely hope we can pull it out the bag. Game plan is gonna need to be spot on though. Spain, aside from being far better than anything we’ve faced yet, are also completely different as well. We’ve generally faced sides where England were probably expected to dominate the play, this lot will look to dominate us.
I was watching on my phone which had a delay of about 10 seconds. Could tell from all the screaming from neighbours when we were about to score! Disallowed goal was a killer! Literally miles better than any of our other performances.
Agreed. Ironically the defensive scrappy way of playing might actually work better for us in the final and we're actually pretty good at doing that and staying solid, especially with the back 3. My fear is we'll end up too deep to have any sustained pressure of our own. But **** it, what will be will be. Reaching the final is an achievement in itself and by doing so you put yourself in with a chance of winning it. Gonna try chill and enjoy it.
I dunno. Watched him a lot at Bayern this year and he's been electric. He's just leggy and needs a rest.
Same here. And having watched him since day one at Spurs I'm pretty sure he's starting to slow down. Never had electric pace but was so quick at getting the ball out from under his feet that even half chances ended up in the net. That part of his game is fading now, which is partly why he's been working so hard on his passing for the past few years (the other reason being the fact that successive Spurs managers didn't allow us to cross the halfway line from the 10th minute onwards). Bayern dominate most games so much it's a joke and while he did superbly there, Kane of a few years ago would've hit 50 goals in that league.
