First test. England did well vs W Indies. Won the toss and bowled, Windies all out just now for 121. Gus Atkinson took 7 for 45, Jimmy got one in his last ever test match.

Bad light stopped play, second week in July, before 5.00pm in the afternoon. Didn't get this with the Tories. This country.

Windies at home hasn't been a test for about 20 years. It's a real shame and a shocking reflection on both the greed of the big 3 and the piss poor management of west indies cricket that a team with so much ability historically and even now in white ball cricket has no chance in competing at test level as their best players simply aren't incentivised to play it.

Never take any notice of the weather until a day or two before really, and even then I take it with a pinch of salt. I'd have seen a fraction of the cricket I've seen in my life if I took any notice of it!

I’ve got day 2 at TB. Last time I was there, I watched a young debutant claim a five for vs Aussies. A certain Mr I T Botham.

They forgot to top up the meter for the floodlights when they left office.

England ended up all out for 370-odd, a lead of 250. Jamie Smith hit 70 on debut.

And I've got tickets for day four at Edgbaston - think I may have miscalculated how bad the Windies are :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Second test v WI started today. Eng put in to bat, lost Crawley second ball then steamed on at 11 an over for a while. Currently 230/4, Pope in the nineties, Stokes just in. Couple of quick wickets and WI will be pleased. Could go the other way though if Stokes kicks on.

Eng 400/8, close of play approaching. Decent score but WI will be happy to have got 8 wickets.

Close of play, Eng 416 all out. If WI can bat better than last week we might get a game out of this.
