Striker and right back are both permanent deals. We'll get an update on Oscar shortly. All courtesy of Baz.
In that case it would be us enforcing the terms of the agreement as it would have been to our advantage to turn a quick profit. Baz's quote yesterday was that we signed him because we were obliged to, not we signed him because we wanted to turn a quick profit. He doesn't expect middlesboro to pay more than we paid. Not only that, the noises at the middlesboro end suggest the same. That and that he's just not good business at 4.5m
Baz gets a lot of grief for no reason. He posts what he can when he can. Also, as with anything in football, what is true one minute might not be true the next.
Still think he was a good signing. Wasted and treated badly by Rosenior, you know, the one who was so good at developing players; his only error was scoring goals at Championship level.
I still think he'd do a job for us ( proved he can score at this level ) and would be happy to see him brought back into the squad and giving a chance under the new gaffer, if his loan can be cancelled
ATM nothing much, I'm working abroad a lot so not really seeing or talking to people as much, but..... Walters set out his stall, he knows what he wants position wise and has also giving some key targets that he'd like and the club are cracking on behind the scenes, there's a definite desire to keep things quiet though which imo is a good thing.
Agreed. You’ll have heard noises that Greaves and Philogene were leaving anyway when the season ended. Maybe Tufan and Seri as well. Ultimately this was probably the plan anyway, maybe Giles threw a spanner in the works some what.
I think people are rightly concerned but once things get moving people will quickly blush as we’ll end up with a good team again with more players here beyond this season
Do you not think it speaks volumes that he's not fit enough to play the majority of minutes in a less physically demanding league?
All I know is what I / we saw with our own eyes whilst he was playing here. He was plenty good enough; he proved that. A little reminder .."On 13 September, Estupiñán was awarded the EFL Championship Player of the Month award for August having scored seven goals across the month". And he'd already proved it in Portugal's PL the season before joining us - 5th highest score in the league, 15 in 28.. Who knows what's happened and why since he left. He seemed to like it here and I'd imagine was massively pissed off and disillusioned when Rosenior side lined him. Absolutely ridiculous decision imo.
Don't think it was his finishing ability that was ever in doubt. I think it's most likely the ankle issue that we were constantly having to manage and that led to him having spells out and spells where he wasn't fit enough to start. Those issues appear to have continued at Metz and in his current loan also. I think it's a financial decision as much as a decision based on his on pitch contribution. The reason he's still on loan not training at Cottingham is certainly not down to Rosenior not fancying him. Not now anyway. There's clearly some other issue.
