Last time I remember @TheBronzeBummer posting a flag, it was a Dutch one and Seelt was announced (out of the blue!) the next day. So may indicate whoever he is hinting at (may not be Browne) is fairly well progressed...
The news from Preston's end is literally just reporting that there are reports in the North East. So the news is only from one end.
Really hope this comes off. Would be good to get one or two over the line this week to keep the momentum going.
Just went on the PNE forum and someone on there posted Browne to Sunderland on Friday. Certainly sounds a goer.
Think Browne has left Preston at this point. Don't think their club would know anything at this point so I can't imagine it's a leak from their end.
I hope this isn't just Phil Smith reading the forums and putting out a transfer story that is non-committal just to keep the clicks flowing.
Tbf he has reported it as first hand info, “The Echo understands” line was used in the story. The likes of copy and paste Copley always state the info is from other sources. Looks like it’s progressing.
Highly doubt that mate, when all the still stuff was going on they were adamant not to say anything as they hadn't heard it from their own sources
Take a paycut to join? What the **** is going on here? Read somewhere, probably here that he was on 18 at Preston. That might mean we don't even need to break our wage structure. Weird. Have to assume it is a long term deal, four or five years.
He turned down 3 years at Preston and was on a fair whack. Preston also finished 6 places above us in the league last season. Undoubtedly we are a "bigger" club but we must be offering him something that Preston couldn't, even if that's just wanting a change and to be part of something.
Browne would be a great signing. Sheff fans seem to think Norwoods legs have gone so would be sensible if we going for him instead.
Might be taking a cut in weekly wages, but I imagine there'll be a decent signing on fee with him being a free agent
