The first projections have surprised France, putting a left-green alliance in the lead despite opinion polls during the campaign indicating that the far right was set to get the most votes. Le Pen who was confident of victory could well be pushed down into third place. This could be a very good week.
It is interesting to see that some of the very small communes that have never had a black immigrant live alongside them, see immigration as a problem. Go to the big cities such as Poitiers, where there are a lot of immigrants, and Le Pen finishes at the bottom of the poll.
My area have always had the local racists (scared of Arabs usually). We were the first foreigners to move there. I think it's too much TF1...
A quite extraordinary story is emerging, suggesting that some Reform candidates who stood for election don't actually exist. No one saw them, they didn't appear for the declaration, and the only photos appear to be computer generated. This is election fraud if true, and could have cost some candidates their seats.
Stories in the Guardian and the National this could result in Jail for Farage and his racist cronies also on another Forum "rumours" of some involvement from Russia (Putin)
In my humble opinion, the joke is legitimate and Radio France have got this wrong. However, on the basis of "procedure", he had been told not to repeat the joke so there is that. The joke is mentioned in the report (France 24 is in English and, imho, a whole lot less biased than our non-dom benefitting media) and it is not only bloody funny: it's the truth! https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/worl...S&cvid=0ec3cc44e2ec48d69f581337e6dcdf0d&ei=39
An inch to the right and that would have gone through his eye socket and he would have ended up like JFK As much as Trump is a madman when it comes to this you have to ask why
And with the gunman having been shot dead, the why will probably never be known. Conspiracy theories already abound as to why those in charge of Trump's security botched their job.
If anyone hadn't worked out just how bad Hunt and Hancock had been at their job, Lady Hallett set it out in quite brutal terms in her first report from the Coronavirus inquiry. Just think back to who led the country at the time, and some still believe him to be competent. I can't begin to understand the feelings of those who lost loved ones.
