The only signing less exciting than Ike Ugbo would be Uke Igbo and he doesn't exist. **** me I really hope it isn't. I thought it was Glatzel coming in first. We might be in for Levin Oztunali as well, though he's a sort of Tufan style player who can double up as both an energetic midfielder and a left winger. Going cheap apparently.
Don't they have to have handed their notice in by 31st May to be able to not come back after the summer holidays? Big ask to replace a July resigner.
I'm really interested to hear who on earth we've spent the money on. Our squad is threadbare and suddenly we are "walking the tightrope" Genuinely if this was the Allams there would be riots
I'm sure it is partly to stop clubs thinking we have a bottomless pit all of a sudden but also to temper the expectations of fans that might all of a sudden expect us to sign multiple players worth 5m+. It's unclear what the outlook for us is next year/ the year after in terms of generating future sales to fund more spending so it would be reckless to spend all this money in one go. I'm sure there will be some good players coming for decent fees but if we can be a bit more shrewd with free agents etc I'm all for it.
Baz posts what he’s told. We’ve just got £35m in fees, teams will now add more money to what they’re demanding from us. Not everything is always as it seems in football many need to realise this especially when reading the Hull Daily Fail
Happened to go to Bishop Burton College today. The facitlies have developed no end since I was last there several years ago. On a day like this, it looked like a fantastic place for lads to train to be a footballer! In fact, made me wonder if it would be a better venue for the 1st team to move to as well! Looks like there's plenty of land to add to the existing facilities.
Actually Baz is saying its in the region of 40 with add ons "In return for selling two of the best, and most sought-after talents outside the big league, the Tigers will recoup a significant transfer fee understood to be in the region of £40m plus some sizeable sell-on clauses, should either leave Portman Road in the near future, but that sale will not see City suddenly armed with a huge wedge of cash, they will not be splashing millions around, that is not a luxury they'll enjoy."
realistically we should be after making 40m and wanting to get promoted otherwise the bloke is talking out of his arse
The article isn't particularly clear or helpful imo. But, that said, I can't see where it says we don't have money to spend and it will pretty much all be frees and loans? It seems to just say the club will be sensible with spending, not spunking it away on a few big money signings.
How can you expect Acorn Lily to spend megabucks here when he has Fernerbahce to worry about. He's clearly fed up with FFP rules and is putting his exit strategy into play. Who next will take over this beautiful club?
Another couple of Philogenes at £5m a pop could be great news. The prospect of bringing another couple in with that level of profit on the player/s I'm sure is too big an incentive for Acun and Tan to ignore. I suspect that the prospect of spending north of that are unlikely, if at all an option. I'm sure Acun and Tan are also attempting to temper the prospect to selling clubs that we are in now in a position to splash the cash big time. That said having to recruit the number of new players we obviously need, is a big ask and one which increases the risk of going backwards unless they gel bl**dy fast.
I was looking at last year's thread last week and you did come out with Vinagre first and very clearly. Also we all got super excited except the lad from Portugal who said he'd be ****
Very harsh. I was in Brid the other day. Sewerby & North side. Sun was shining and it was stunning. I regularly go to the South side too, out to Wilsthorpe & Fraisthorpe. Beautiful. Cracking beach. The centre let's it down .. but it's now slowly improving. I've been all over England, and Brid can be as good as just about anywhere (bar the best in the South West and Northumberland). At least far better than so many of the grim resorts around the country. Doesn't deserve a bad rap (albeit maybe done tongue in cheek).
