Na not having this like. Can't anyone find something negative to say about the club and Speakman . Obviously I'm joking and loving the fact the club is heading in the right direction that means we have signed Rigg to a pro deal despite lots of interest and sounding like Jobe has made it known he wants to stay despite Premier league interest (that tweet is pretty much a statement saying leave me alone to concentrate on my season!)
It has been a crazy turn around like, soon as the manager was announced the relief was palpable and then the Hummel news, the pre season footage, the club has went from manic depressive to american chin and superman chest in a couple of weeks.
Has been since they took over, it just takes a little time for the fruits to ripen and of course there will always be bumps in the road, the key is to keep your eye on the medium to long term strategy and remember that if we lose a game or two, it doesn't mean we should throw everything in the skip. Delayed gratification, some are capable, some aren't. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_marshmallow_experiment
I agree. Biggest thing I've noticed is the club are now talked about by media, players and other clubs in a way that comes across as professional and well respected! Before that I always felt like the club was seen as a bit if a joke? I have said on here before it might not always work but I find signing these young players so much more exciting when compared to signing journeyman middle of the road player x to come and walk half arsed about the pitch!
Just thinking about the 'bit of a joke' part that you put. It is probably one of the big reasons why some of our fans are continually so negative/abusive on social media to the club. They are used to us being run so unprofessionally for a long time that it's just ingrained in them, that's how SAFC is. We are worlds away from that now but a lot of fans won't / can't / don't want to open their eyes to the great stuff that's happening.
Fuming me I had that £20m spent on new additions Just kidding but I hope we nail him down to a position this season and let him develop there. He’s not a striker for me like I still think he’d make a great 8 but he won’t get the chance to play there while Neil is here.
And that's fine, so long as the right areas are covered. I don't need to mention them. Squad is strong. Just needed a leader and 2/3 good additions.
2 or 3 starters, a fair few loaned out/fringe players sold and some young lads with potential in brought in like most windows is my guess
10 years ago, Bellingham and Rigg would have both left and they'd both not play 20 games the following season.
Max Dean would probably make more sense than Langstaff coming here (I know he's at Millwall now) - 20 years old and scored 19 in 34 last season since joining MK Dons in Jan. Toulouse trying to sign him for 1m. Would make so much sense to bring him in as a backup option. Anyone agree?
If Jobe goes and has a better season output wise than last you can add another £10m to the reported asking price from this season. Thats the reality.
I like max dean, works his socks off and has a nasty side to him. He doesnt give defenders a minutes peace and will happily boot them - i like strikers with that type of attitude (as long as its controlled)
