West Ham fan taking the transfer triangle well https://www.hammers.news/transfer-n...ple-deal-so-west-ham-must-break-their-hearts/
Do I take it they think it’s a cheek to demand a fee for KWP as he only has 12 months left on his contract? Pillocks
I don’t think they mind paying a fee, but seem to think we are taking the piss wanting discounts for Ings and Downes and money aswell for KWP. Say West Ham should walk away until we are asking for a “reasonable” fee
Except the reporting is that it is West Ham who are offering this to try and make the deal happen and it’s the player who isn’t interested. Like someone else said it is bizarrely vindictive and is based on a weird assumption that everyone is trying to pull a fast one on them. I’m suspicious of people with that default position as it suggests to me that they are constantly looking to do the same to other people. I have a neighbour like that who constantly assumes everyone charging a fee for anything is trying to fleece you. And then other stuff he mentions indicates he wants to cheat others and I expect he’s done it in the past They seem furious that we don’t want to be undercut for KWP and that they have right to sign him if they want. They are also angry there is other interest as, like with all players, that usually means the selling club aren’t forced to sell at a knockdown price. But I’m sure they wouldn’t complain if there is other interest in one of their players that gives them a better negotiation position - oh like they mention in this very article with Downes and Ipswich. It’s almost as if they are hypocrites
Still a month or so to go til the start of the season but really hasn’t been much noise about money signings apart from O’Riley and we don’t have much space left in the squad to register players unless more leave (think it was 2 spots left I think). Interesting to see how the rest of the window pans out and will reserve judgement until the first game of the season.
So how does that work with the £130M (or whatever) SR recouped last summer? I’ve said before, I think SR are being very frugal this window, which I understand but surely the player sales last summer, mean from a FFP perspective we must be ok?
I'm not sure maybe it is different rules for the Championship?. I dare say someone with better knowledge than I might be able to answer that question.
It is been very quiet in terms of out goings but I expect that to change. It would surprise me if Alcaraz and ABK both go which would generate a fair amount. I also wonder if we are waiting for Adams to make his decision before we pursue striker(s).
It’s calculated over three years and I believe you’re allowed to lose up to 105m across the three year period. I don’t know how accurate the article was, but someone posted a month or so ago thinking we could afford to lose up to 80m this year. this is of course still a loss and Dragan would have to be up for covering it.
Ipswich doing some good business. Looks like they’re going to get deals done for Graaves and Philogene from Hull and rumours of Delap from City. Already got in Johnson from West Ham and Hutchinson on a permanent. Think they have the same philosophy as us as in wanting a core of British based players.
