Didn't he help us avoid becoming FFP cheats? Well a joint effort with those bulls on the shirt at least.
well said Risty. Glad someone agrees with me. The point of the rat loan clauses was actually to force the players hands to move to clear the wage bill if we were relegated. It was unrealistic to expect anyone to take a 60% pay cut and the club knew that. It was the clubs decision… it was in ALL those signings contracts, not an individual agent haggled thing. So Jesse getting Canada to the Copa semi’s? Nah, I’ll quit while i’m ahead
Whilst I kind of agree with you about the rats and that is was poor negotiations by the club (why not put in a release clause as reported for Archie), the perception of them was when we really needed to fight to prevent relegation, with their futures sorted, they didn’t put the desired effort in.
Don't want any of the rats back tbh. They got the club relegated and it would have been nice for them to take a bit of personal responsibility and take a financial hit to rectify the mistakes of the previous season. Of course, I understand why they would want to **** off on loan and keep the money rolling in. It's a short career after all. The worst rat behaviour was from Gnonto who refused to play to force the club to sell. That's a slap in the face of fans who help pay his wages. I don't believe he apologised to the fan base, only saw him apologise to Farke. **** him. Sinisterra wasn't far behind but at least he has gone now. The next ratty behaviour was from Wober who said he was staying, put the armband on pre season, told everyone he was a warrior and promptly left at the first opportunity. At least the likes of Roca and Aaronson told it how it was straight after the relegation and did what they said they would do. I might not agree with it but at least they were honest.
Think it’s a really difficult one this, as I think I agree with points made in various posts, even some with direct counter arguments. I believe they should have stayed, though equally I was delighted Aaronson and Kristensen moved off the wage bill. The remainder I thought could have done a job for us at Championship level. I don’t really want any of them back, but accept unless we get better in, to replace them, they are still our players and I’ll support them when they play. I’m also realistic to know that I’ll cut them less slack if their performances are below par.
Another rat out of the door and only £3m but remember his fee has been paid off quite a while back and we have saved his wages for the last couple of years plus got £1.5m in loan fees for his first year and a half loan, but no loan fee last season. https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1809897346228011066
We got some money, we’ve saved his wage, it’s one less distraction for the club to try and sort. Imagine loaning him, we get promoted and he comes back on full wages sitting in the reserves.
Just seen the tweet, what doesn't add up is, we were supposed to have turned down €4.5m earlier in the week
Roma an an option to buy for 5m, seems clickbait sites just guessed that Betis had offered around the same. Anyway he's been sold, next?
Just remember for everyone one of those leavin the club will be paying agents huge fees to organise the sales. Will probably run into millions. We’ll see in next years accounts
Surely they can only take a percentage of the transfer fee. What should happen is that the players should pay their agents for getting them moves instead of the clubs, watch how the prices for transfers become more realistic then.
Sky tv have ruined uk football and taken Europe with it. Italy etc can now not afford to buy top rated players. Unless ofcourse they use the Barcelona and man utd model of continues debt.
