I want to be in an atmosphere with holland. All white v all Orange. Fans that relate to each other would be marvellous for me. I had a wonderful time with some Slovakian fans, at least what I can remember :emoticon-0111-blush but my footy jokes didnt land. I just think us and the dutch would be a spectacle.

The agenda against Pickford is bizarre at this point. His heroics in shoot outs are completely taken for granted and you can tell the pundits are waiting with baited breath for a mistake to jump on. At one point Shearer even blamed him for outfielders not competing for second balls. Mental.

Alot of frustration with that game but overall it was a much improved performance. The Swiss were easily the best side left in our side of the draw but we were for the most the better team. If we were playing any of the other teams there would have been more goals tonight but the Swiss were fantastic with their last ditch blocking.

To put things in a bit more perspective as well, this is international football and games are alot tighter. Look at the French, Italy, Germans bar one game, they all struggled. Only Spain look outstanding st the moment

Probably England's best performance of the tournament, but that's not saying much. The Swiss goal had been coming for a while, but huge credit to England for hitting straight back.
    The pens were outstanding.

Both of these teams look more aggressive than England ...

... they'd need some more luck to beat them imo.

There was a queue waiting to put that goal in ... 1-0 Turkey.

Honestly, what does the bloke have to do to get some credit? 3 semi finals and 1 final in the last 4 tournaments.

Just don’t get it . A goal up in quarter final and your priority is just to whistle at opposition , even though you must know it has no effect on their performance. Pathetic

That was our best performance of the tournament and we just about deserved the result against a Swiss team who beat Italy and led Germany after 90 minutes. They had a couple of good chances in extra time, largely because we had so many attackers on the pitch, but we were in control for much of the 90.

Saka had his best game, as did Foden. Konsa was excellent too. I thought we nullified Xhaka quite well, he wasn't nearly as effective as he might have been.

The idea that Southgate is just constantly lucky is daft. He might not be a pro-active manager, but it wasn't luck that we got back into the game. He made changes and we went all out for that equaliser. The lack of control after the subs is the reason, he's about solidity first. I'm not saying I necessarily agree, but the all out attack that some want us to play will leave us wide open to counters from good teams.

Anyway, we're in yet another semi-final, we've won yet another penalty shoot out and we've not even got into 3rd gear yet.

Being serious mate, you're much better off with the Dutch.

I took two of my sons to the French and German WCs and the Dutch were good company.

Most speak English and they have a similar culture ...

... whatever happens keep us posted, have a great time mate.
