Not been to istanbul but have heard its packed and annoying and like any city tourists can become targets.

Antalya was lovely, nice people, good food, never felt any threat anywhere and my bird done a day or two out on her own with no bother while i was sick in the hotel

That's the idea - she's already sent a video of the family home in Istanbul - amazing place with a pool ... and it looks scorchingthere - hasn't stopped raining here in the last 24 hours!

Mate, we deliberated long and hard and also took some advice ... also had discussions with the girl's parents - they shouldn't be going anywhere there might be potential problems for Westerners - and the beach resort has been purposely developed for tourism - there are always risks in life but it is also there to be lived - they won't be clubbing or getting wasted in Istanbul for sure ...

The girls are also all living together in Reading from September so it would have been unfair of us to try and stop her going - and frankly, she would still have gone anyway

I've never ever thought Western tourists are at risk in Turkey, but now it's made me think, are they?

Doing something either deliberately or carelessly (because you haven't thought it through) I.e girl at one firm I was working at got pissed in Dubai and was caught in a 'compromising' position in a public area ... her and the bloke both had hotel rooms ffs ... ended up in jail and all sorts of bother including consulates - think he was Dutch - before getting released ... how ****ing stupid?

She's hardly roaming - staying with a Turkish family the whole time along with an Iranian girl a South African girl and I'm not sure where the other lass is from ...

 

One disappointing thing about turkey was absolutely zero belly dancers.
