Keepers are odd with some injuries. This kid has knees issues but was quite highly rated and we competed with big clubs to get him 5 years ago. He's an absolute giant compared even to big Al. You get bangs and knocks as a keeper with fingers and shoulders but we underestimate the kicking game for keepers imo. Alisson did the hamstring and the calf making clearing kicks. I think pope did his knee too. They are doing more sprints and runs out now and less kicking so they seem to be picking up new types of injuries. Broken fingers are an occupational hazard. Kelleher had a few
Alisson did the calf v Norwich. Said it was like being shot. He came back last season from international duty on a Friday was playing Saturday i think and did the hamstring. I dont think he's as good at warming up as he could be.
I did my calf muscle running backwards playing badminton - it felt like being hit with an iron bar. For a moment I honestly thought I'd run into something, although there was obviously nothing on court. I was out for 8 or 9 months, and decades later it's still fragile.
Exactly what alisson commented too and imo his kicking has never been thr same since. Now I'm not saying it's bad but his first season he was tossing it about and chippings over lads heads and after it he looks far more wooden.
Manu Kone, who we were heavily linked with last summer before he got injured, might be available for around EUR 10-15 million.
It does seem a very sluggish transfer window so far, aside from the PSR nonsense, not much going on around Europe. Obviously players away at tournaments, but that's never stopped them moving in the past. Feels like clubs are wanting to hold onto what they've got this summer and handing big new contracts to keep star players
I don't see us doing much business anyway because we've got a new manager. We like to plan and strategise, Slot needs time to assess
The English clubs seem to want to dodge and dodge until someone gets a massive uefa fine or ban. What villa have got up to in collusion with others is a variation of the juve/ Barca dodge that got both in massive trouble. Chelsea are selling their club to themselves to buy yet another 40 players who will not play. I dearly hope they go bankrupt and cannot pay these players as a lesson to players and agents
Today's lazy journalism... I've read three articles on different web sites today talking about how Liverpool have to decide how to react to £150million offer from Saudi Arabia for Salah. All three are referring to the one made LAST SUMMER... Started making me wonder if I'm crazy, if someone has made a new bid I'm just comprehending incorrectly... No... I'm not. Just one journalist brought up the old story so everyone copied him bringing up a transfer offer from a year ago
