"Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest crowns new winners"

Digressing from politics, guess i'm old-fashioned enough to mention that I think these gluttony contests, mostly in the USA, are revolting. They are simply disgusting, IMHO. :(

The one blessing is that as the Liberals got fewer votes than Reform UK it will stifle their bleating about proportional representation (for a while).

The other highlight was the rout of the SNP.

That mantle has already been taken up by Farage and the other 3 Reform ****wits. Nige needs to tread a little carefully on this as there was a referendum on this in 2011 which gave a resounding no albeit from a dire turnout. Folk can rightly point out to him that you shouldnt be able to pick and choose what referendum results need to be rerun.

I dont think that at all Stick. Give me a dull but hard working govt any day over the recent Tory shambles. I suspect Starmer will be very strict on integrity within his cabinet.

It was probably as much an anti-Tory non vote as an anti-Tory vote. In the first two seats declared, half of the Tory vote went to Reform and half of it just disappeared (abstained). The Labour vote hardly moved at all.

The BBC kept putting Labour grandees like Mandelson and Hodge in the chair to tell us how millions of people had switched to Dame Beer Korma’s “Changed” party but nothing of the sort was happening. The turnout was one of the lowest in history. They had Lib Dem deputy leader Daisy Cooper on lying about how people were flocking to them but the Lib Dems picked up seats where they had been in second place and the Tory vote disintegrated.

Will Starmer be clocking off at 6pm this Friday to go home to the kids like he reckoned? <laugh><laugh>

Spoke too soon, Farage has already bleated.
