Very good post Disco and one point I agree with entirely. This term 'Yes man' is daft and misleading imo, especially when people say Le Bris will be expected to 'toe the line'. There isn't an industry anywhere that would employ someone who doesn't agree with the philosophy and working practices of that business. Of course the manager, players, staff, etc, will all be expected to agree with how things progress. There's room for new ideas, of course, but there has to be a common goal and procedure as with any team of people. As you say it's bound to end in tears if someone comes in, takes the money, then decides they don't want to work with the existing situation. Even worse, like Mowbray, when they clearly and openly criticise the club which, in my opinion, was a plan to cop the payoff. So much for a clean slate, some people are already trying to find reasons to moan ... ... everything from his so called 'reluctance/inability/prevention' regarding bringing in his old colleagues to the fact that he 'no speaka de English' as one idiot chose to put it. Of course he'll have flaws as a man and a manager, let he who is without flaws be the first to cast a stone
I think he is a 'yes' man in the sense he said yes to the philosophy and structure of the club. I also believe he is changing his team because he may have felt let down last season when the going got tough and realised they weren't the best for support. I have a very good feeling about this season and not necessarily pushing for promotion but watching the excellent football of 2 seasons ago, seeing the team development to a potential premier league team then taking the extra steps. OAU.
Really good watch this, shows just how hysterical some comments on the squad/team are and how close we are to being a very good side with the current players.
"Kristjaan Speakman has confirmed that Régis Le Bris will have the final say on his assistant as the club continues its search for reinforcements to the first-team coaching staff." "And he doesn't, at the present time, have a cohort of people that he's worked with probably more to do with his background [in academy football]. And he was really, really clear that he's got a profile around the staffing structure and we're currently trying to recruit another assistant to that profile. And then once we have that assistant in, that will have a knock-on effect, I'm sure, in terms of where we are on the other positions and where we want to expand or where we want to get maybe some additional detail into the staffing structure."
So it's seeming like it's nothing to do with the club dictating to him and not letting him bring his coaching staff more of a case that he doesn't have any to bring! The club clearly have a insight into what is being said online and are addressing the rumours! Doubt it will be the end of it like but at least they are answering things for the sane people who want to listen
We are getting tight for time on it mind. I'd hoped the coaching staff set up would have been in place by now.
Good to see the communication from the club improving in the last week or two. And it makes sense that RLB will want final say in who he brings in, as he should. Hopefully this nips some of the conspiracy theories in the bud (although not convinced it will!)
Kinda sensible (even if accidental) of Speakman to give all this information to the local press who he knows will spread it out over several days to maximise clicks / stories during the summer. As it makes it look like he's giving more information each day when in reality it would all have been from one interview
Yeah they are, but my point is that everyone and their dog thinks it’s just them as part of the coaching set up.
