yeah, plus Nightmare on Elm St, Hellraiser, Return of the Living dead & The Lost Boys.
Starting to think the 80's were the golden age of film, even a top ten by genre would leave out some classics.

If you were growing up in that decade you definitely had the best cinema ever.

Also add First Blood and Rambo imo.

Now I disagree (no surprises) a lot of 80's films just haven't stood the test of time for me, I was a kid 8 years old in 1980 so loved a lot of them at the time throughout that decade but I don't really love a lot of those films compared to some really good films from decades before. I think special effects limits were being tested and failing badly but if course it paved the way for some spectacular improvements. I'm also a fan of modern cinema where cinematography and some brilliant acting can now be found.

    Explain?

Actually I will. For the very ****ing stupid who haven't got it yet there are 2 major film review websites Imdb and Rotten Tomatoes, my taste in films tends to follow Rotten Tomatoes more than IMDb so my reviews tend to follow their format.

    Hope that helps.

Now if you'd like to point out a big list of films that I get completely wrong go nuts because my reviews are generally spot on.

As discussed at the very beginning of this thread I'd say there hasn't been a single decade since films began that there hasn't been classic movies being made. The 80s weren't any better than the 70s or any other decade.

    Imho of course.

    80's and 90's for me.
Surprised Memento is on that list. Sat down to watch it with about 7 other people and I was the only one who bothered to watch it to the end, the rest got bored and I wasn't that impressed. Interesting idea but just boring and a bit confusing.

****ing love the 80s and 90s action movies. Give me cheesy one liners, over the top plots and unrealistic action scenes where the hero barely gets clipped whilst shooting down dozens of enemies any day of the week over some drama where a bloke or woman cries over the tragedies of life as we know it. Whilst I can appreciate a good plot and sound acting every now and then, I largely watch films to escape reality.

I could binge Seagal, Arnie, Stallone, JCVD etc every day of the week and never get bored.
