Yes but the exit poll had the racist guy winning and he’s lost by quite some way. Last time the exit polls was a very solid indicator. This time less so it seems. If he’d won they said they’d have chucked him out.
Weird seat. There’s a local independent former Lib Dem guy who is well-known and got a decent chunk of the vote. Plus yeah not the brightest bunch.
Farage, Tice and Lowe win. Fantastic. The Right surely have to coalesce around them. Labour landslide on a low vote share, lower than Corbyn got in 2017. There's a sea change happening in UK politics. There is all around Europe.
I’m looking forward to complete role reversal on here where we point out that (as I write this) the Labour landslide has been achieved by them having 34% of the vote from a 55% turnout.. which is just under 19% of the electorate, and others saying they received a strong mandate from the people. Mind you, Sunak and his cronies got what they deserved, so **** ‘em. I’m off to console Penny with a glass of bubbly, an old net curtain and a stick of wet celery.
I’d check out Jess Phillips’ speech if you can. Sounds like some pretty ugly tactics from the ‘Workers’ Party and I expect it’s been as bad next door in Ladywood.
Looks like the SNP have been put firmly back in their box - now they can actually get on with running the country for the next two years instead of bleating on about independance. If I was Scotrish Labour I'd call for a vote of no confidence in the SNP at Holyrood and try and force an election for Scottish parliament.
