As you say, Philogene and Burns on the wings, Omari just behind ... Hirst would be in his element, that's a pretty decent forward line imo!!

Let's hope we sign Steve Mounié from Brest and keep the theme of innuendo signings going.

    Honest non wind up opinion;

At PL level you will be destroyed down the left hand side if Leif starts as your LB, you all love his attacking attributes and assists, you really need someone with greater defensive capabilities at this level.

You need to spend some on a new keeper, that’s a bit of a pain for you. I can’t understand why you’d be excited about Rushworth

Your new RB sounds an improvement, he obviously expects to start every game.

You had Omari last season, you’ve signed him for this one, decent move but you’re £20m down and no stronger in that position (as he was already filling it last season). Have the Chelsea and Arsenal coaches made a huge mistake letting him slip away.

You really need another striker, even if for backup, it’s so easy to lose 4-5 games in the PL and have the confidence drained.

I hope you get the Hull pair, very good players and the more opponents get weakened the better for us next season.

Think your biggest move so far was keeping McKenna, nice to see the excitement building in here though, lots more activity before the window closes I’m sure

Ok, so now it appears Philogene is in advanced talks with Town and looks like this one is going ahead, prefers Ipswich to Barça, which makes sense as at Barça he would probably struggle for game time. If we get this over the line, I think it's a fantastic bit of business!!

So much negativity from Leeds fans about Leif. He wasn’t really given much of a shot at your place so I suppose it’s understandable to focus on negatives on a player that left, but he isn’t actually bad defensively at all. He’s asked to play a very attacking role in our system which demands he is up & down all game which inevitably has its advantages and disadvantages.. the advantages have massively outweighed everything else for 2 years straight.
I expect we will adapt our system slightly for the new season and with others around him (like a different winger in front of him/centre half next to him) expect he will adapt to life in the Prem with no real issues. I said after our L1 promotion he’d play for England and I stand by that

The “£20m to stand still” take I see.. if you watched him last season you would have seen a huge development arc from raw talent to one of the best attacking players in the final weeks of the season. Big game player who can step up. Continuity has been our strength and McKenna has improved everyone at the club in the past 2 years so I see very little reason Omari can’t continue his progress

That amount is based on his potential.. which is absolutely huge. He is going places and I fully expect we will lose him for more than the £20m we’ve spent in 12/24 months time. A calculated risk based on the fact that we know him and he knows us. Like I said continuity has been our super strength

I genuinely feel Leif is going to let you down in the PL, he was awful when we beat you, granted it also depends on what the coach is asking him to do, he might have got into the England squad if that Muppet Southgate had remained in charge much longer but he's on borrowed time.

Omari was your player last season, he is your player this season, the only difference is you actually own his contract now and it cost you £20m. You can't say you have strengthened a position with a player who is playing in the same position as last season. We had Rodon on loan, we have now signed him, we are no stronger in defence and we are £10m worse off.

Philogene will be a good signing for you, as for the Bacelona story, Barcelona are saying they have never heard of him, it was a publicity stunt by his agent to drum up interest, he tried to orchestrate a photo opportunity in Barcelona's car park and was escorted out by security.

Don't rule out Villa though, they have a £15m buy back clause that they can activate..

That game at Elland Road was an anomaly. People have bad days. The whole team had a bad day, not just Davis. It means nothing.

Basing an opinion on one match of a 46 game season seems solid logic. He has his limitations, but Leeds fans I know seem a little too keen to focus on his defensive attributes when the stats don’t really back that up.

When that player is a player who will get better it is an improvement for the medium and long term if not the instant impact you’re trying to make out

On a different subject, almost as important as our beloved Club, I am delighted to see the back of the most awful, deceitful, lying, corrupt Govt in my lifetime.

I have lived thru 19 PMs from Churchill to Sunak. The wretched tenure of the last 14 years has ended. A new dawn for Britain starts today!

Not last a second term is positive, why on earth would anyone want Starmer and Rayner in for a second term. Wrong was Rishi and Truss handing it to flip flop Starmer on a plate

I wouldn’t be so sure. This could be a realignment of British politics. We’ve had decades of first past the post, which has mostly benefitted a Conservative Party with limited mainstream competition on the centre-right/rightwing. Throw in a resurgent Reform party - if they’re here to stay - and we’ll see at least another election where Labour edges above a split Tory/Reform vote.

I notice Reform voters are bemoaning the first past the post system. But just like Brexit, we had a referendum on a proportional representation type election model ten odd years ago and it got categorically rejected. Will of the people, eh?

On a side note, amazing to see several East Anglian constituencies reject a Conservative MP. My seat - Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket - voted in a Labour MP. This is the first time since 1880 that a Conservative has failed to get elected here!
